A self developed Holga shot / A broom / A mannequin minus a nose I fail to see what else I could have done to improve this.
WAR… / . / . / Is WAR just a word? / Its meanings are far reaching and deafening. / WAR is a state of mind, a physical struggle, discord, antagonism, conflict between people, nations, factions, states. / War is ugly, cruel, combative, relentless, a disrepect for life. / Just to one party, unjust to another. / War began in Heaven, brought to Earth, and through generation after generation it has become a means to an end. / An End with no begining if left unresolved. / Man hasnt the capacity to stop because of something far reaching within his soul…greed, pride, and the nature of SIN. Man talks of Peace and Change but hasnt the ability to stop, what can bring end to WAR? / Anniliation? / But then after anniliation comes a temporary peace, from fear, a need for survival until mankind reaches up into a plateau of wealth again and WAR returns…. eventually. WAR is a burden of mans soul, a part that can never rest no matter his desire, sensibility or determination… WAR is: / . / “W”restling / “A”t / “R”esolution. / . / . / . / Lisa C. Weber ©2007

ok…..this is a little tongue in cheek….....be nice
A plan for my culminating project in art. This is just a sketch scanned into photoshop and edited so that it might look like the real thing. The real thing will be, like, 6 feet by 3 feet on butcher paper, and with gouache and gesso and stuff… I’m working on it now, and it’s so so fun :) Nothing beats traditional hand done stuff, really.

oil on canvas – for physics and metaphysics majors, and laymen who enjoy thinking about imponderables. Einstein thought that the universe could be precisely described. His view is on the right. Heisenberg thought that you could never exactly describe the universe, and that in some cases an object could actually exist at two places at the same time. His theory is on the left. Since all is flux, the observer might be impartial, but today he is partial. Like an IMAX theater, if you experience dizziness or nausea, just turn your head and the feeling should subside! Again, revisiting an oldie and introducing a new photo with different camera, trying to match the setting and set the mood of a couple in a situation which appears to be tense, maybe a little separation.
I was walking along in Soho, NYC and spotted some graffiti that kind of made me laugh. I went for a partial of the wall to concentrate on the copy of the “Don’t Lie To Me”. I figure this would be a cool print (or card) for someone out there. LOL
Another cute mannequin that caught my eye in Southern California. I imagined her to be ‘at a rock and a hard place’ in her department store LIFE. ;) She is ready to leave her window designer man for the hunk at Bloomingdales.
Featured in the Two Being Group on the 2-7-09. It looks like Eagle is saying… ‘Tell someone who cares.’ As she just keeps talking. This is a more humourous shot and belongs to my ‘Beautiful Woman Beautiful Bird’ series…I uploaded a couple of weeks ago. The day that I visited Grouse Mountain…there was a snowstorm and hail and rain and I went out searching for the two bears which I found. After the snow storm had cleared I was on my way back to the lodge and came upon this woman and bald eagle. I had never been so close to a bird of prey before and I was captivated by them both and how close they were. 20 May 2009, Grouse Mountain, Vancouver
Papug and Znajda are having a little argument here…
I like these little bean-shaped people. I’m going to call them The Derrdoos and draw them again. /
Change – Relationship
A few weeks ago some of my neighbors “had words.” Nothing physical happened but lives were changed, I’m sure. I can only imagine what would have occurred if one of them HAD taken things to that physical level. This image is piles of layers and paint, a couple of fractals and photoimages. I went over the top with it, but that’s how the day affected me. So instead of letting it sit in my files until I can make it calmer (which isn’t going to happen, since it WASN’T) I’m posting it.
An experiment: I drew on top of a photo image from my textures file. This wall always looks so ready for graffiti, but it never gets any. So I added some. / Maybe I’ve been listening to the news too much lately or maybe it’s the weather: discord and animosity seem more prevalent than ever (even birds are attacking each other in the trees this morning), so I thought I’d just draw some and get it out of my way for the day. As far as the experimental part of this goes, I loved being able to draw on a “real” background instead of worrying about whether I could draw one or not. May do it again. Photoshop Elements 3 and my point-and-shoot Nikon / Here’s info about the song that’s “referred to” in the title.
Sometimes I wonder what it would have been like to have a sibling. It’s probably a complicated relationship, not without its prickly parts. This is a detail from an acrylic-on-canvas painting I’m working on; thought I’d share it now. Scanned with CanoScan8800F, minor edits in Photoshop Elements 3. /
