  • The Jama Masjid in Old Delhi, India – I believe India’s largest Mosque – one of my favourite buildings in the world. I love Islamic art and architecture. I wanted to create something different when photographing this beautiful building. Architecture pictures can be boring and lifeless – I didn’t want to represent the Jama Masjid in this way, because it is so full of life. I asked the boy in the foreground to run through the flock of pigeons so they would fly upwards, away from the building. It was a nice coinsidence that he was positioned in the doorway. This effect achieved, to me, looks like angels flying out of the Mosque. Angels of Allah.

  • This photo was taken at Bagan, Burma (Myanmar) at sunset. The light was filtered through the dust. The color in this photograph has not been enhanced or changed. It was just a magical event.

  • Taken by a professional stunt driver under controlled conditions (maybe or possibly) The TAC (Traffic Accident Commission) warns that driving with your knees while taking photographs is dangerous and should not be tried at home or anywhere.

  • This image was taken @ Port Willunga at the remains of the old jetty. On a recent journey back to Port Willunga recently, I’d noticed that many of these posts had been burnt. A fun stunt at the time I suppose :( Best viewed on a black background. Images from Australia / Architecture / Images from Japan / Sunsets / Water Scenes

  • Taken on a ship as it left Sydney Harbour; this is just to the right of the Harbour Bridge as you leave. This photo was taken on a rather glum day, but the Sun appeared just as we were leaving, giving pretty much everything an orange tint.

  • This old mill, situated close to one of the main roads on the island, I have passed several times during the years. Each time thinking, that this must be a nice subject in the right lighting. / The other day I was lucky when I passed. 1/320 sec. / f/9.0 / Aperture priority / ISO 100 / Spot metering / WB on Manual

  • I thought there was no hope for this pic until I converted it to Sepia! Just changed the whole feeling of it. Taken at sunset at the Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. The Mosque is still under construction but when finished, will be able to hold up to 10 000 worshippers. It is pretty impressive with huge turrets and gorgeous blown glass windows. Top 10 in the Traditional Sepia Competition – 18 August 2009 /

  • A run down farm shed at Merewether Heights in Newcastle. I inserted / edited a photo of the beach at the Cowrie Hole into the montage.

  • Sunrise over Fes, Morocco. Adhan (Athaan) is the Islamic call to prayer, recited by the muezzin. The root of the word is ʼḏn “to permit”, and another derivative of this word is uḏun, meaning “ear.” This is the minaret of Kairouyine mosque in Fes. The university which is attached, was founded in 859AD and ‘is considered the oldest continuously operating institution of higher learning in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records.’ (Care of Wikipedia) / Adhan I

  • Reflections on Florida Spanish Architecture. Lake Dora, Mount Dora Florida. / Nikon D300. Nikkor VR 18-200 lens. Handheld, Sunset. • Herringfleet Mill can be found where you might least expect to find it – about twenty yards on the Suffolk side of the Norfolk/Suffolk border. Given Norfolk’s monopoly on spectacular, well-preserved mills, it seems only fair that neighbouring Suffolk should have a few of its own…although it should be noted that even this mill is officially in the Norfolk Broads. This photograph was taken on an extremely February day. A 13 seconds’ exposure captured the movement of the clouds as they raced across the East Anglian sky. Canon EOS 5D and EF 16-35mm lens. Exposure of 13 seconds at f/22.

  • The Fisherman’s Bastion at sunset in Budapest – Hungary.

  • Farmers Quarters close to Bay City Michigan, there are three of these in a row, all abandoned and falling down. Nikon D90 / 18-200 mm VR Lens /
