Webb Bridge is down-to-earth, a project Melbourne can be proud of, built among the superannuated towers of Docklands. It suggests, romantically, the fishing nets, cages, middens and naughty hosiery of the old wharfs. It is biological and ethereal, a stab in the dark and sculptural.

Dear William; Well honey its been 9 days I have been down here in the submersible, I’m studying the dolphins this month. I wish you were here to see them all interacting, its just amazing. They dont seem to be bothered with my presence anymore. / Ive been studying these beautiful creatures daily and the team wants to test their certain abilities and game behavior. We placed large cubed objects on the floor of the ocean to which they could be tested for long extended periods of time. It didnt take long until they did accept the objects, or even the lights going on when they entered them. Our little friends appeared to love this one in front of me the most and are joyously entertaining themselves daily with little games like, who can could turn through the cube the quickest. The elders are less likely to join in but remain near by. Perhaps their knowledge of such non sea elements are considered a breach of territory or considered a possible threat. / Well I better get back to work….Talk soon! / . / . / . / Journal Entry: June 12th, 2012 / Day 9…. / Quadrant 8 / Subjects: Ling’s Pod / Time: 2:34pm / Grouping: Ling’s pod has remained since dropping the cubes. No other pods have appeared. / Territorial Issues: Ling appears watchful of outside interference, even small fish / Flashing Light Reactions: Adults still unsettled, young adults intriqued / Gaming: The young adults appear most engaged while others try but end quickly, still unsure why / Emotional Stress: None at this time / Time of Cubing Interactions: Mostly between 10am & 4:40pm, seems feeding schedules counter the play activity. ©2007 Lisa C. Built to celebrate Australia’s Bicentenary (1988), the Bicentennial Conservatory in the Adelaide Botanic Garden, South Australia is the largest single span conservatory in the southern hemisphere. Designed by South Australian architect Guy Maron, the building is curvilinear in shape, 100 metres long, 47 metres wide and 27 metres high. An elegant steel superstructure supports the 2434 square metres of toughened glass which forms the roof, walls and doors. ‘Conservatory’ image won ‘Reader’s Picture of the Month’ in DSLR magazine published in Jan 2008 issue. A revised version of my ‘Middlesbrough Drops’ watercolour painting. The coal drops on the river Tees estuary, in the 1830’s. / In the foreground, is the Tees river ferry – which in those days, was a small, rowing boat. I love the daunting and weird, distant grey structures, ready to drop the coal upon the collier (coal) ships. My version of a Thomas Harrison Hair, 1837 watercolour. Watercolour and HB pencil.

The Custom House Tower is a skyscraper in McKinley Square, in the Financial District neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts I been asked, how this was done. Digital Art Compilations of 2 shots: / Sky taken by my Nikon D60 and tower which was taken with Canon Powershot S3 IS in AB mode and processed first as HDR, then 2 images was blended in PS Elements 6.0 , I used multiple layers to blend the colors, until they looked right to me. “Customs House Clock Tower” featured in That’s Entertainment on July 27, 2009 Challenge Win in Any Type of Timepiece – All Artwork Allowed on July 26, 2009 “Customs House Clock Tower” was featured in Majestic Massachusetts on May 31, 2009 May 18 , 2009 – Second place with 5 votes( same as winner) / in Clocks!!! Clocks!... But , after recording this event , I accidentally made an image private. After I realized that I made a mistake, I made it public again, but it not longer show up in the challenge, oooooooooooops! March 6, 200 8 – top 10 in clocks

Canary Wharf is a part of London that I’ve been meaning to visit for ages, but have always refrained due to various stories of photographers being hassled / frisked / manhandled by overzealous security personnel. It’s an area of London that I’ve visited a few times (mainly when I started web contracting back in 2007), and have always been fascinated by the “shininess” of the district – huge structures comprising of glass and steel, towering over the populace below. Today I took the plunge, hopped on a train with my camera and trusty Sigma 10-20mm, and started brazenly snapping away. Well, if you’re going to do something, you might as well do it properly is what I always say! This is by Canary Wharf station, and on the left is One Canada Place, sometimes known as Canary Wharf tower. Canon 400D, f11, 1/200, 14mm, ISO100 See more of my work at Dan Biggins Photography.
