  • I actually took this shot while “You’re not the only one” by Ammonia was playing on my Ipod. Great song fitting image. “Cuts like pins and needles, miles and miles away. I took the shot through the Windscreen of my car. I really like the effect, it seems quite sad and intimidating.

  • My Pentax K100D camera peered into the sky and captured darkness and light. The shadows in between two skyscrapers in Melbourne. This image has not been adjusted.

  • World Trade Center a few months before 9/11, New York, USA

  • One of the office tower’s in downtown Atlanta. I love the architecture of this building. It’s reminiscent of art deco. Built in the early 1990’s, but given the style, it’s hard to easily place it. The angle in this photo was achieved from a neighboring observation deck. From this vantage point, 191 Peachtree Tower appears to loom far above the skyline, but of course if viewed from other directions, it’s one of many towers that make up the downtown and Midtown skylines.

  • I’ve wanted to cartoon the CBD for ages, I’ve held off because it takes so damn long to complete with all the little details.

  • After many shots of this same scene before HDR I felt there was something here to be told through the story of Art and high dynamic range photography has brought it out in this shot of the Sydney skyline.

  • San Francisco at night.

  • This shot was grabbed back in 1985 in midtown Manhattan.

  • This is some sort of building. With lights. I did something with both the exposure and the aperture, but I forget what. No after processing, oh, except a crop.

  • I was out with one of my students the other night. We were on our way to the top of the NS Building and found this view from the 13th Floor. The borders top and bottom are actually the window-surrounds. I shot this at about f/7.1 for 2seconds, lens-hood removed, lens flat against the window with my weight pushing against it to brace it still. No tripod? Just improvise! Nikon D300 / Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8

  • This is not your “usual” shot of the S.F. city skyline and Bay Bridge that you are used to seeing… those are shot from overhead. There are reasons this view is not seen all over the place… To get to this location, there are a lot of obstacles to overcome. Sheer drops with nothing but rocks and ocean below abound, jagged metal from construction jut up from the ground when you least expect, and the keep out signs from the government didn’t help to settle my nerves any either. For that last reason you don’t want to use your flashlight as you head down the slopes for fear of the coast guard seeing you. That makes the afore mentioned problems magnified. So… all that said, it was a calm beautiful night on the bay and once I reached this area, I found this sight so breathtaking that it took me easily five minutes before I remembered why I came to the spot. Bay Bridge, Yerba Buena Island, CA Camera: Nikon D90 / Exposure: 6 sec (6) / Aperture: f/6.3 / Focal Length: 25 mm / ISO Speed: 200

  • San Fancisco at night.

  • Cityscape background, urban art

  • One of the magnificent Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

  • Street level looking up at the SHAW building in Vancouver, BC.

  • The varied layers of colors, angles and lines of downtown Las Vegas.

  • Shot in the summer 2008 downtown Toronto Handheld 3 exposure HDR

  • Canary Wharf is a part of London that I’ve been meaning to visit for ages, but have always refrained due to various stories of photographers being hassled / frisked / manhandled by overzealous security personnel. It’s an area of London that I’ve visited a few times (mainly when I started web contracting back in 2007), and have always been fascinated by the “shininess” of the district – huge structures comprising of glass and steel, towering over the populace below. Today I took the plunge, hopped on a train with my camera and trusty Sigma 10-20mm, and started brazenly snapping away. Well, if you’re going to do something, you might as well do it properly is what I always say! This is by Canary Wharf station, and on the left is One Canada Place, sometimes known as Canary Wharf tower. Canon 400D, f11, 1/200, 14mm, ISO100 See more of my work at Dan Biggins Photography.

  • Melbourne City, looking west from the eastern edge of the CBD. For some reason this reminds me of a manga cartoon of a futuristic city, possibly Astro Boy (if anyone remembers that far back lol). Just a very slight crop, change of colour balance and tweak of contrast in this one. No other post processing. Canon 50D / 58mm, 55 – 250 Edited and completed at 1.30am MCN: CTA36-JNBX6-AYH31
