  • Landscape of the Lord St. Malo outside of Estes Park, Colorado. One of thee most photographed Churches in all of North America, I was VERY excited and VERY anxious to get this shot when I headed up to Rocky Mountain National Park. I was hoping that the weather would clear because behind this, covered in the clouds, is Mt. Meeker and it is just a stunning view with the mountains! I have to admit though, I am really happy how this came out. And if anything, it is quite unique compared to how it is usually shot. I suppose that is a good thing when it comes to photographing something that is such an icon. Generally, people walk down by the pond and shoot from there, I stayed up top on the side of the road, thus giving a different perspective than most. Also, the weather. It was dramatic as all heck! You could smell the rain as it came in, dark, but with so much drama in the sky. I was pretty lucky to get a shot like this. Ya, I am happy with it! • Kyoto`s temples are filled with inspring scenes and places to photograph. It`s truly a photographer`s dream. The stone lantern was a great centre point for the picture and the ume naturally framed the lantern. I hope you enjoy it. !

  • I.M. Pei’s Miho Museum, on a mountain ridge in a nature preserve in Shiga Prefecture, Japan, an hour’s drive from Kyoto. The Miho Museum houses Mihoko Koyama’s private collection of Asian and Western antiques belonging to Mihoko Koyama (after whom it is named), the heiress to the Toyobo textile business, and one of the richest women in Japan. This photo shows the tunnel leading into the museum that cuts through the mountain. It`s a 200-metre curve, silent and echoless, and ends with the cables of a half suspension bridge 120 meters across a deep, narrow gorge. Its a stunning museum. If you`re ever in Japan, please check out this hidden gem. !

  • This a re-work as the original was too small to be made into a print.

  • By far the most famous fictional ghost ship is The Flying Dutchman. The ship has become synonymous with the phenomenon so that “Flying Dutchman” is often used as a generic term for any apparition-type ghost ship. The term may also refer to a real ship that was reported to be seen – often as an apparition – after sinking, or to a ship found floating with no crewmembers on board. According to folklore, the Flying Dutchman is a ghost ship that can never go home, but must sail “the seven seas” forever. The Flying Dutchman is usually spotted from afar, sometimes glowing with ghostly light. If she is hailed by another ship, her crew will often try to send messages to land, to people long since dead. / Versions of the story are numerous. According to some, the story is originally Dutch, while others claim it is based on the English play The Flying Dutchman (1826) by Edward Fitzball and the novel The Phantom Ship (1837) by Frederick Marryat, later adapted into the Dutch story Het Vliegend Schip (The Flying Ship) by the Dutch clergyman A.H.C. Römer. Other versions include the opera by Richard Wagner (1841) and The Flying Dutchman on Tappan Sea by Washington Irving (1855).

  • The image has been created as an alternative to the popular and greatly exaggerated theory of global warming and its consequences. Since global warming activists predict a dramatic change of the planet’s surface in the nearest future, the Ice Age Premonition portrays our society in the new Ice Age. / Ice Age – A cold period marked by episodes of extensive glaciations alternating with episodes of relative warmth. Any geologic period during which thick ice sheets cover vast areas of land. Such periods of large-scale glaciations may last several million years and drastically reshape surface features of entire continents. A number of major ice ages have occurred throughout the Earth’s history; the most recent periods were during the Pleistocene Epoch. There have been at least four major ice ages in the Earth’s past. The last glacial period ended about ten thousand years ago. / Surrealism art prints / Digital art prints / Fantasy digital art wallpapers

  • I shot this last week down in Florida with the very lovely Wendy Hanks as model… Sometimes you work with a model who is so perfect that nearly every picture is a “keeper” – Wendy was such a model and I hope that (despite our geographical distance) her and I work together again soon…

  • This shot was taken of the window of the original Black Springs Bakery building in Beechworth, Victoria, Australia. It has a very french provincial feel to it, though. This was taken in autumn with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera and a 18-55mm lens. This was featured in the Canon DSLR Group, Rural Around the Globe group, Windows and Doors Group, Falling Leaves group and the Nature’s Reclamation Group.

  • Collaboration with dinghysailor1 / A collaboration with my great RB friend, the talented Photographic Artist dinghysailor1. I had discussed the possibility of working together to make a few images and Maggie was very keen. She went out and took a handful of superb shots of very historic landmarks in Scotland, based on a list of subject matter I was interested in using for a photo-manipulation – things that sparked my imagination. Then I lost my editing program, and as a consequence, a lot of my motivation to create anything. But I got a replacement program recently, and just finished this artwork today. I’m very pleased to have her as an RB friend and it’s great to work together ! :)) Here is Maggie’s Original Photograph / To view Maggie’s excellent Portfolio visit dinghysailor1 Here’s a photograph I took of the moon recently and used in this Artwork / Featured in the AW Welcome Center on Sunday 23/8/2009 / Thank you to all the Moderators for the feature !
