These woods whisper so loudly, and grow with such a brute force unto me, that no matter what, all I can do is to retreat to contemplation… History and facts: / “The Convent of Capuchos of Sintra is one of the many examples of 16th century religious piety in Portugal and became known for the extreme simplicity of its construction. Built on a very small scale with cells and dormitory lined with cork and a chapel whose vault is formed by rock itself. / The Convent followed the principle of universal fraternity and brotherhood of the Franciscan monks. The inhabitants belonged to the Province of Arrábida (South of Lisbon), of the Order of Friars Minor Regular and Observant (Grey Friars). José Ramos

Another photograph shot at the necropolis in Buenos Aries. It’s been shot with Ilford HP5 on a very old and small SLR camera and kept starck in the post processing. I can only remember it now as a series of snapshots. Like this one.

“Emerging colors from the Night!” placed Second in the Corners – Challenge in the group “Mood & Ambience” in March 2009 “The Monument to the Fallen Soldier” honors the lives of soldiers and policemen in Colombia, S.A. who have lost their lives in the line of duty to their country. What is unique to this monument is the irony of lost lives, not in battle to protect this country of Colombia from threats without, but in protection from the threats within! Thousands have lost their lives in the line of duty in the 40+ years of civil war in Colombia. / /

There are few places in Colorado that I love more than this one, and yes, it is a very iconic place, situated between Allenspark and Estes Park…and in Autumn it simply comes alive in ways I can not even begin to mention, the bushes turn a liquid gold in color, and everything resembles a painting….beauty in it’s most sincere form in Nature. I hope you all like it! / John /
The Bridge of Isabel II, popularly known as Bridge of Triana, was designed by Eiffel drawing on the Bridge Carrousel of Paris and is one of our National Historical Monuments. / It joins the center of the city of Seville with the popular and typical andalusian Triana district, replacing an old bridge of boats which existed in the s. XIX. It is the most impressive of the six bridges that across the Guadalquivir river in Seville (Andalusia, Spain) / Many people use to go to this side of the river to read, paint, sunbathe, have a drink, running, rowling or just relax :) It is one of the most famous places in Seville and one of my favorites so I hope you enjoy it ;) Canon Ixus65
Interior of the Pantheon in Paris, France. This was taken with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera and a 18-55 mm lens. The Panthéon (Latin Pantheon, from Greek Pantheon, meaning “All the Gods”) is a building in the Latin Quarter in Paris, France. It was originally built as a church dedicated to St. Genevieve, but after many changes now combines liturgical functions with its role as a famous burial place. It is an early example of Neoclassicism, with a façade modelled on the Pantheon in Rome, surmounted by a small dome that owes some of its character to Bramante’s “Tempietto”. Located in the 5th arrondissement on the Montagne Sainte-Geneviève, the Panthéon looks out over all of Paris. Its architect, Jacques-Germain Soufflot, had the intention of combining the lightness and brightness of the gothic cathedral with classical principles. Soufflot died before his work was achieved, and his plans were not entirely followed. The transparency he had planned for his masterpiece was not attained. Nevertheless, it is one of the most important architectural achievements of its time and the first great neoclassical monument. I sold a large framed print with black frame and bright white matt to a lovely couple in Geneva, Switzerland. Many thanks indeed.
