London, UK I usually walk along the south bank riverside in London.. and l passed by this place maybe a thousand times ! This pattern and line filled image isolates a lone girl in red. Taken in September of 2007 at the De Young Museum in San Francisco, the girl is set upon a dizzying array of stairs reflected by a glass wall which shows the reflection of an imperfect world. / She descends as if on her way to the bottom of an unseen future.

This was taken in an art museum in Chicago. I would love to shoot more of this kind of thing in the future. (In this one, all I did was invert the center panel.)

We were vacationing in Iran and there were these mausoleums and tombs in tribute to great poets, architecture reminiscent of old Islam and gorgeous tiles and organic paintings on the walls. This shot was almost unintentional, I noticed the light and the shadows and just took the shot, this one shot. I didn’t even look at it on the digital screen of my camera, there was so much beauty around me I didn’t want to waste time, I didn’t want to miss anything. I didn’t see this shot again till I uploaded the pictures onto my laptop. This picture is a reminder of the beauty of Iran.

This corridor at the Eden Project, Cornwall UK, caught my eye. / I was attracted by the lighting, the repetitive lines and the curve of the walls that lead your eye to….. who knows where! Best viewed large Featured on the RB Home Page – August 09 / Featured in the ‘Tunnel Visions’ group Nikon D80, 10-20mm Sigma. 1.5 second hand-held exposure (I forgot to bring my tripod!)

Exeter’s beautiful 1000 year old cathedral has the longest continually vaulted ceilng in the World. I carefully composed this image of a short section of the vaulted ceiling to be as symmetrical as possible and give a pleasing patternation created by the lines of the gilt decorated structural beams. As a footnote to anyone else trying this kind of composition, you get quite a bit of attention from others when you spend over an hour laying on your back in such a sacred building trying to get that special image.
