  Once upon a time, the Netherlands had the biggest concentration of castles in the Netherlands, from simple nobleman’s houses to great fortresses, these buildings stood like petrified guardians all over the countryside. Nowadays only a handfull survived the times unharmed. This calendar provides an overview of some of the prettiest examples of castles, palaces and ruins across the Netherlands. This calendar intentually does not give the same old overview of the famous few castles that you can find everywhere else, but it tries to also show the charm of the little towerhouses and the lesser known castles as well as a few of the regular highlights in order to show the full variety and charm of these historic treasures.
