One of the hidden treasures on our side of Sydney is “Elegans”, a private five acre garden, open to the public a few times each year. Four man-made lakes are the central feature of this informal park-like garden, which has been the result of 20 years of labour by its owner, a dedicated plantsman who has transformed a bare five acre block into a garden of great distinction. Paths meander in all directions, leading to something new and unexpected at every turn. The garden features 50 Japanese Maples and 150 camellias, and many citrus trees. Foliage and flowers are reflected in the tranquil lakes, with plantings of lilies and irises rimming the banks. Relax on the sunny lawns overlooking the lakes. Garden beds are overflowing with something new being added all the time. A rainforest area contains many unusual native trees including rare grevilleas and a large tree waratahs. This is the pathway that leads to the beach at the resort I stayed at in Mexico. It was very long and very beautiful, surrounded by lush greenery and arbours

The garden area of ‘Green Valley Farm’ where this Wisteria walk is located is very picturesque. The arbour would be a wonderful setting for a wedding.
