  • Photograph was taken at Osaka aquarium during my visit to Japan in 2006 . I used a Nikon D70 and a 50mm 1.4 lens. Camera set in apperture priority at F2.0. Shutter speed 1/40. There was quite strong overhead lighting in the tank. Focus was difficult because the tank was a round shape. I took quite a few shots but this one was the most appealing in terms of the way the jellies lined up. Credit is also to Sophie who was waiting patiently as I was taking the 100’s of photographs over three hours at the aquarium. She did well – and kept her complaining to a minimum because she could see that I was enjoying myself. Must be love

  • Taken at the Vancouver Aquarium, this is a Beluga whale Delphinapterus leucas immediately identifiable by its destinctive white colouring and rounded head. This is one of four adult belugas found at the aquarium with the recent introduction of a new baby calf born on the 10th June 2008.

  • This is an original Celtic knot that I created from a modified trinity knot. Done in Prismacolor colored pencils. The type of fish which makes up the three rings is known as the saddled bichir, (Polypterus endlicheri endlicheri), is one of my all-time favorite fish. Some people think they look like snakes, but I think they look like miniature dragons, especially with all their dorsal fins, which look like spikes. Play on words of “endless knot”. • A black and white edit of the CBD from just outside the Melbourne Aquarium, wish it was a bit more still so the reflections came out a bit sharper but oh well! Taken with my old Canon 300D and converted to black and white in Lightroom 2.

  • Not that starfish are fast movers, but taking a Ttv photo sometimes can prove sluggish for me. I didn’t notice the other starfish’s arm reaching into the photo until I uploaded this onto my computer. I absolutely love it more now than the image I thought I had initially captured. I believe all living things have hearts that beat with emotions. Dana Point, CA / Ttv Photograph / Canon 40D / 100 mm Macro Lens / Kodak Duaflex III / Crop/Brighten only
