A storm rolling in over Sandgate Jetty. It had already rained a bit, hence the water on the jetty. All comments appreciated. - paul www.paulpichugin.com

As I stood on the bank watching this young man paddle his canoe across the lake. He seemed to be unaware of the beauty that lay behind him. This made me think about all the beauty that we behold each and every day that we simply ignore or take forgranted. Sometimes we need to just stop and really take in all of the marvelous creations around us. This is my new favorite!!! /

Olympus E-510. Zuiko 100mm. 1/400 f8. ISO 100. Auto focus wouldn’t lock on fast enough for this so I had to go manual focus. It took about 100 shots before I got it!

Taken at Black Rock late in the day. Shortly after the rain came. This is a HDR image.

I took this almost two years ago, but it’s still one of my favourites. Our horse was looking over the fence at me, which coincidentally meant he was looking west, straight into the setting sun. A cold easterly wind was blowing in a storm behind the horse. The sky looked almost black and ten minutes later we were running for cover. Not really photographic skill, more the good luck of having the camera to hand at the right moment.

As morning breaks, a dramatic sky threatens to flood the ground below with light. Reminiscent of a plane coming in to land.

During a trip along the New England coastline I came upon this lighthouse just as a storm front was moving in.

“Äs we reached the summit, we were welcomed with a warm and golden sunset. Not for long though, as I glanced at the black clouds casting their shadows over the distant hills. If we were to stay dry we’d better hurry and set up camp.” Macro photograph of a rock. I took this one in my backyard, I have a rock retaining wall at the back of the garden. The black mountains in this photograph is actually created by the shadow cast by the sun. One of the few macro photos that I have taken in direct sunlight. If you look closely I think I was being observed by some little insect or spider in the crevice. Don’t think I would’ve been so close if I had know it was a spider! LOL!
