  • Apophysis, for whatever reason, fractals done on a light background have always been among my favorites. I hope you enjoy this. ;-)

  • I am dedicating this fractal to a great friend and wonderful photographer, Phil. We all know him here on the Bubble as Phil Thomson. Phil has the amazing ability to capture the “magic of the moment” in all his photos. This one is for you my friend! Visit Phil’s Gallery: Phil Thomson IPA / © Dave Moilanen 2008

  • This is my entry for the Photoshop Creative competition / Digital Mixed Media. Mostly done in Photoshop CS2. A touch of Corel Painter and Apophysis 2.0. This image is composed of digital painting, a few fractals, and several photographs added for texture. I hope you all like it because I’ve been working on it for most of this week :). / This is the first I’ve completed in a new series: The Elijah Series. This image represents the chariot of fire. You can read about it here: 2 Kings 2:7-12. There is so much going on in this image so I’ll help you out: The Chariot driven by some sort of Angelic being is in the center of the image while the horses of fire are at the bottom, very front of the image. The blazing light of Heaven is in the very back. Basically, the sky has opened up and the Chariot of Fire is coming down from Heaven to separate Elisha and Elijah. The whirlwind that takes Elijah up into Heaven will be the next image I do in this series. Thank you for looking!

  • Fractal made in Apophysis Yet, O stricken heart, remember, O remember / How of human days he lived the better part. / April came to bloom and never dim December / Breathed its killing chills upon the head or heart. / Doomed to know not winter, only spring, a being / Trod the flowery April blithely for a while, / Took his fill of music, joy of thought and seeing, / Came and stayed and went, nor ever ceased to smile. Came and stayed and went, and now when all is finished, / You alone have crossed the melancholy stream, / Yours the pang, but his, O his, the undiminished / Undecaying gladness, undeparted dream. All that life contains of torture, toil, and treason, / Shame, dishonor, death, to him were but a name. / Here, a boy, he dwelt through all the singing season / And ere the day of sorrow departed as he came. Robert Louis Stevenson. In Memoriam F.A.S.

  • The spiral in this fractal reminded me of a cyclone and the swirling winds. / /

  • The effort of condensing my chaotic thoughts to three little words at the point of the stylus. / How to orden this great balloon of images into something so simple as ‘I love you’ . . . / / / Fractal done in Apophysis and treated with Photoshop.

  • ... the youngest fairy of them all, seen only when the bees swarm and the crickets chirrup. / Apophysis 2.07

  • I purchased a laminated print of this piece, and I have to tell you, the high gloss print just makes this one pop! It is so smooth and fluid. My only complaint is that everyone (with the exception of one of my neices) first comment is, “What is it?” Heck, when it first came, my husband said “What is it?” I said “An abstract” he said ”..so what is it..” We went back and forth a minute, then he finally gave me this odd look and said “People actually like this stuff?” LOL I’ve had people ask if it’s an ear, a dog’s dew claw, paint swirls, etc. I keep saying, it’s just a digitally rendered image, it’s nothing. I finally gave up and started say If that’s what you think it is, then it is. Personally, to me, it reminds me of blood cells flowing. LOL Like I said, it’s whatever you think it is! Created in Apophysis 3D hack This piece was featured in the Digital Abstracts and Patterns group, the Abstract Art group, and the main Art page. • Created in Apophysis 3D hack. This is one of my favorite fractals. I think the title is very fitting for this image, the curves, the colors, an abstract view of desire, love, compassion and lust. I love how smooth and curvacious it turned out. Can you tell that this actually came from the parameters of A Pinch of Blue ? This piece was featured in the Live, Love, Dream group and A Fractal Energy Passion group. Thank You!! —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / This piece can be found in my Digital Abstract Calendar. —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— For products featuring this image, visit Karri’s Zazzle Store / More Fractals by Karri Klawiter

  • Apophysis…. as always. I really am a fan of the light backgrounds in fractals, they can be hard to work with in as much as white is so much more unforgiving than black, but I really do like the etherealness … is that a word ? ;-) I really like the delicate look to the fractals. Though in this case, as Helene pointed out, the background picked up the color from the image itself & it’s no longer white but has indigo undertones to it which help to soften it even more.

  • Hi, I am Lily! I am starting with my older works here. This is a collage from 2005, combining a photo with a fractal. Original source: Seraphina by Lilyas
