  • Gouache on paper.

  • I find Rumi so inspiring. This image would be great for someone you’ve just had a quarrel with, or for that special someone you are sharing your life with.

  • Ella Bella Mae – Card Series

  • I hope you find my designs fun. All artwork is copyright to Skippygirlgraphics.

  • I took this picture of a friend’s cat, who answers to Kitty Kitty, during her grooming ritual. I keep trying to get pictures of cats with their tongue out, but you can’t snap the shutter when you see it because it’s gone by the time the camera shoots. So you just have to snap away and hope. I did not get a tongue in the pictures in this episode, but this one was too adorable to pass up. Kitty Kitty looks like she is embarrassed and hiding her face. It would make a delightful “belated” birthday card, a note card for an apology, or a shy valentine card.

  • Inspired by OneRepublic’s Apologize click here to hear song I’m holding on your rope / got me ten feet off the ground / and I’m hearing what you say / but I just can’t make a sound You tell me that you need me / Then you go and cut me down, but wait / You tell me that your sorry / Didn’t think I’d turn around and say That it’s too late to apologize, it’s too late / I said it’s too late to apologize, it’s too late. I’d take another chance take a fall / take another shot for you / And I need you like a heart needs a beat / but that’s nothing new I loved you with a fire red, now it’s turning blue / And you say sorry like the angel / Heaven let me think was you / But I’m afraid That it’s too late to apologize, it’s too late. / I said it’s too late to apologize, it’s too late.

  • : / : / : / : February 13, 2008 09:15am A HISTORIC morning has seen Prime Minister Kevin Rudd say sorry for the “grief, suffering and loss” suffered by the Aboriginal people in the past 220 years. National Apology to Members of the Stolen Generation 13th february 2008 To say Sorry brings healing and a new trust to those who have suffered, we as Australian are all responsible for the well being of Australia, let us live as one. The Alice Springs Telegraph Station Historical Reserve marks the original site of the first European settlement in Alice Springs. Established in 1872 to relay messages between Darwin and Adelaide, it is the best preserved of the 12 stations along the Overland Telegraph Line. Construction of this Telegraph Station began in 1871. The township of Alice Springs takes its name from the waterhole a short distance to the east of the Station buildings. This Telegraph Station operated for 60 years, and then served as a school for Aboriginal children. /

  • I had a bit of fun with this one :) Illustration of a girl standing looking up, a blue rope tied around her, holding a flower in one hand and a tea cup in the other, a cat peeking out from behind her legs. A delightful, whimsical card or gift to apologize for not keeping in touch, say sorry for being so busy, and thinking of you!

  • This is Maggie and she had just gotten scolded for digging in the flowers! Pitiful face, isn’t it! Would make a great “I’m Sorry” card!!! /

  • pencil on paper. torn from my sketchbook at some point. / it got wet and wrinkled. / would have been best not to have drawn it. / ...but i did.

  • A humorous card with several applications. / “Sorry for pissing you off!” / “Sorry to hear you had a bad day.” / “Wish you were here…” (haha) There’s some room to write your own cover text. Enjoy! :)

  • Acrylic on canvas

  • I’ll let the tee do the talking…

  • A lot of layers, yes. I dedicate this work, my first new Digital image in months, to Hilton. I hope he can understand that all of my behaviors have been motivated by my current mental state, and have never once meant to reflect upon him as a person I care about. I’m little good to anybody when mania hits, drops, and then my affect blunts, but I wish I could somehow better make those I care about see how mixed up I am in my own flesh, feeling or not, and find a way to assure them it is my failing as a person, never theirs as one deserving my time. Nothing cutesy today my friends – nothing in my current world light enough to make so of.

I feel the need to justify the artworks I show and the writings I submit. It’s puzzling to many why I seem incapable of painting pretty pictures. For years I have listened to my peers and those of my family members who still communicate with me, and I’m constantly having to patiently explain that I have to enjoy what I do, and that painting a landscape or whatever that will only be second rate at best, does not fulfil the urge that is inside me. I’d rather explore my own mind, or make observations on the world as I perceive it to be. I admit freely that I am likely to see beauty in something ugly; and ‘ugly’ is what I am told my paintings are. It’s the same with my writing: I do often write about dark thoughts and things, and have no urge to write lovely verse. If I share these writings and paintings at least they are out in the world, and somebody may find solace, or a shared emotion, or even disgust; as long as something is evoked I have made an achievement, no matter how small. Most of my work is very personal, but what better place for it than an Arts Community where it may receive some understanding. I do take some pride in what I do, and even though the symbolism in image and word is often obscure I am able to share what I do, with the satisfaction of knowing that anything I paint or write didn’t exist before I created it, and to me, as I imagine it is to all creative artists, this is what we were put on earth to do.

  • Oil over Acrylic on Linen / 1220×606mm The very talented photographer Ronald Rockman graciously granted me permission to paint from his incredible image no where man . / I have used much texture under the oils- piped and palette knifed on, providing a linear counterpoint to the ironic disenchantment etched on this mans face, and echoed in the palette knife finishing textures in the hair. / Have to let it dry now so I can sign it!

  • ...over 100 times and didn’t even apologize.

  • Sorry day is on Tuesday of this week. The Rudd government last year said sorry to the Aboriginal people – long, long overdue. This documents the apology to the Stolen Generation.

  • *“Love me when I least deserve it, because that’s when I really need it.” / ~ Unknown (photo shot when I happened upon this vine of pretty wild roses during a paranormal investigation at an abandoned farm)
