The symbolism of this image is deep. Man against nature, his arrogance even when dwarfed by the age and strength of nature. / This was taken in Arches National Park at Delicate Arch in the Fall of 2005. There are many photographs of Delicate Arch and I didn’t want to duplicate what had already been done. With a man dressed in a black suit, he appears in a unique vision of the famed Delicate Arch stepping out from another time and place.
Another storm off the Bundeena Cliffs, Royal National Park just south of Sydney. I just realised I’ve got all these storm shots from the last couple of years that I haven’t got around to posting and as I don’t have enough yet on RB to create a calendar I thought I’d better get onto it. / How to describe the beauty of this night from a couple of years ago? I’ve never seen a storm go through anything like the transitions of this one. It started out in the most simple and minimalist of ways – just the odd bolt of lightning with a band of teal light sandwiched between an almost jet black band of cloud and an equally black ocean. Gradually, over a couple of hours the storm gathered into itself and moved into this almost apocalyptic display of red and purple at different times until it produced what looks to me almost like a mushroom cloud. It slowly then began to fragment into ragged streams of ghost-like clouds with the intense brilliance of the stars in between. / And with this gift the most exquisite solitude – not another soul did I see.
The brilliant Joseph Corsentino photographed me as one of the characters in his fantastical universe of The Time of the Faeries. The photoshoot was an incredible collaboration between various artists – / Photographer: Joseph Corsentino / Hair stylist: Michael Hall / Special FX makeup: Eddie Inda / Makeup: Yaya / Armor: Bountyhardware.com / Costume design, creation and angel wings creation: Yaya / Model: Yaya

i have been trying to paint more loosely and abstract to no great effect, but merging the attempts together brought about this fiery vision
Part of the Sea Storm series shot off Bundeena Cliffs Royal National Park just south of Sydney. / The blur of the clouds is their movement over the 30 second exposure – more clouds start sweeping in as the storm gathers greater momentum. / This shot fits between this one and this one
20×16” oil painting and ink on canvas. Inspired by Year Zero by NIN, specifically the track “In This Twilight.” This is my Resistance Fighter (a character I invented) and a dark self-portrait. The role we have in our planet’s destruction and ultimate demise is larger than we think. we’re all underground sometimes. ART IS RESISTANCE! Original painting not for sale. Lyrics to In This Twilight: watch the sun, / as it crawls across a final time / and it feels like, / like it was a friend. / it is watching us, / and the world we set on fire / do you wonder, / if it feels the same? and the sky is filled with light / can you see it? / all the black is really white / if you believe it / as your time is running out / let me take away your doubt / you can find a better a place / in this twilight from dust to dust, / ashes in your hair remind me / what it feels like / and I won’t feel again / night descends / could I have been a better person / if I could only do it all again and the sky is filled with light / can you see it? / all the black is really white / if you believe it / and the longing that you feel / you know none of this is real / you will find a better place / in this twilight
Listen, it’s the sound of life being transformed. / Changed by the particles that cling and undo. / The voices are crying. original work acrylic, watercolor, color pencil and pen.
this ancient analouge image is the Sydney skyline in 1982 from the WatchTower building that overlooks Redfern station. Now days it’s all multi million dollar apartments but it was a very different city back then. The graffitti is actually the name of a punk band that was squatting in the building at the time. But the image could also be read as a comment and observation on some of the goings on around here in bubbleland. Or maybe I just posted it because Muscular Teeth tells me he likes my apocalyptic images….... the interpretation is open….....
Did this one a little while ago. I think it’s pretty representative of how I felt about my school days growing up. The arrival of that bus was easily comparable to the coming of the apocalypse for me.
..in collaboration with raindogs ..Postscript universe….a Poem by raindogs… / early one morning / on an ancient old coast / i caught the sun dawning / playing the oceans ghost the deepest pale blue / the coldest old secret / oceans of the moon / know how to keep it early one evening / in a cold desert stare / i heard the earth screaming / a mad red affair…….raindogs.. ....... a first experimental water based acrylic apocalyptic painting to represent the four horsemen of the Apocalypse..when He comes to ‘cut the wheat from the chaff’...from the book of ‘Revelations’ ...........Hallelujah .... 100% proceeds to charitywateraid.org apocalyptic ; after Salvador Dali’ acrylic on canvas ....
There was a bit of experimentation going on in this one for me. Watercolor, charcoal, colored pencil, pencil, marker, ink, and a wonderful photo of my not so handsome face were used to pull this thing together. Quite surprisingly, I don’t hate it. I know, I know…me not hating something that I’ve done is no doubt the first sign of the coming apocalypse. I’m sorry that a pathetic self portrait by a nobody you’ve never met had to bring forth armageddon, but I guess that’s just the way the cookie crumbles. Or I suppose the way the earth crumbles…as the case may be.
