The symbolism of this image is deep. Man against nature, his arrogance even when dwarfed by the age and strength of nature. / This was taken in Arches National Park at Delicate Arch in the Fall of 2005. There are many photographs of Delicate Arch and I didn’t want to duplicate what had already been done. With a man dressed in a black suit, he appears in a unique vision of the famed Delicate Arch stepping out from another time and place.
A view out over some nearby industrial plants from a derelict office building
20×16” oil painting and ink on canvas. Inspired by Year Zero by NIN, specifically the track “In This Twilight.” This is my Resistance Fighter (a character I invented) and a dark self-portrait. The role we have in our planet’s destruction and ultimate demise is larger than we think. we’re all underground sometimes. ART IS RESISTANCE! Original painting not for sale. Lyrics to In This Twilight: watch the sun, / as it crawls across a final time / and it feels like, / like it was a friend. / it is watching us, / and the world we set on fire / do you wonder, / if it feels the same? and the sky is filled with light / can you see it? / all the black is really white / if you believe it / as your time is running out / let me take away your doubt / you can find a better a place / in this twilight from dust to dust, / ashes in your hair remind me / what it feels like / and I won’t feel again / night descends / could I have been a better person / if I could only do it all again and the sky is filled with light / can you see it? / all the black is really white / if you believe it / and the longing that you feel / you know none of this is real / you will find a better place / in this twilight
i have been trying to paint more loosely and abstract to no great effect, but merging the attempts together brought about this fiery vision
Another storm off the Bundeena Cliffs, Royal National Park just south of Sydney. I just realised I’ve got all these storm shots from the last couple of years that I haven’t got around to posting and as I don’t have enough yet on RB to create a calendar I thought I’d better get onto it. / How to describe the beauty of this night from a couple of years ago? I’ve never seen a storm go through anything like the transitions of this one. It started out in the most simple and minimalist of ways – just the odd bolt of lightning with a band of teal light sandwiched between an almost jet black band of cloud and an equally black ocean. Gradually, over a couple of hours the storm gathered into itself and moved into this almost apocalyptic display of red and purple at different times until it produced what looks to me almost like a mushroom cloud. It slowly then began to fragment into ragged streams of ghost-like clouds with the intense brilliance of the stars in between. / And with this gift the most exquisite solitude – not another soul did I see.
Did this one a little while ago. I think it’s pretty representative of how I felt about my school days growing up. The arrival of that bus was easily comparable to the coming of the apocalypse for me.
Part of the Sea Storm series shot off Bundeena Cliffs Royal National Park just south of Sydney. / The blur of the clouds is their movement over the 30 second exposure – more clouds start sweeping in as the storm gathers greater momentum. / This shot fits between this one and this one
Having an overwhelming interest in customised transport, I created this piece as a self-caricature (and homage to Mad Max Thunderdome) during the recent upsurge in petrol prices- when it reaches $3 per litre, this is what I’ll look like! I drew the original piece with Indian ink and a brush, and then scanned it into Photoshop where I layered paint and textures over the original linework.
Worth the click to Large – many more stars await you. Fourth in the Sea Storm series shot off Bundeena Cliffs Royal National Park just south of Sydney. It was quite a sight watching the storm gather momentum under this brilliant starlit sky. This shot is actually the third in the sequence and comes between this one and this one Canon 30D / Tv: 20secs / Av: f/3.5 / ISO: 800

Listen, it’s the sound of life being transformed. / Changed by the particles that cling and undo. / The voices are crying. original work acrylic, watercolor, color pencil and pen.
In a vision of St. *John the Divine, God is described as seated on a throne and holding in his right hand a scroll sealed with seven seals. When the first four are opened, four horses appear, WHITE, red, black and pale, or piebald (Rev 4:5). They are usually depicted with riders and symbolize CONQUEST, slaughter, famine and death, all of which will ravage the earth before the end of time. Four Horses (horsemen) of the Apocalypse / (Conquest, War or Slaughter, Pestilence or Famine, and Death) Horse and Rider: Our Lord, Rev.19 Oil on canvas, White Horse “Higher Mind” / Horses are a pleasure when I paint. He has center stage in my home.

Photo Manipulation Musical inspiration: Akira Yamaoka. There are no lyrics, only music. I find his music haunting and it sets a rather melancholy mood, both beautiful and sad. / I listen almost exclusively to Yamaoka songs (mostly the soundtracks from the Silent Hill games/movie – my absolute faves) when I am creating. They inspire me like nothing else can. Here are Dance with Night Wind and Tears of… which inspired the mood for this pieces. . / Credits Model stock / Sky / Ocean, Rocks / Water Fall / Brushes / Everything else hand painted.
