  • Somersby Falls is located near Gosford. Along the old stretch of old Princess Hwy. I can say that we were the first to get there today. Arrived at around 7:30am. We parked the car and headed straight down to the falls. I didn’t expect much from it. But to my surprise, the falls have to out to be one of the best that I have ever visited in Sydney. So many area to explore. This was taken on what could possibly be the last set of falls. We didn’t go any further. It wasn’t a hard walk, but you do need a bit of balance to move among the trees and rocks. There will be another trip….who’s up for it? Pack light, take only 1 lens….and good walking shoes. Cokin Z-Pro 121M Grad ND – bring down the exposure of the sky.

  • Too sad for apostrophes today… Graffiti near Lovell’s Wharf in Greenwich.

  • Near my old home, in Hanno, is Arima dam. Looking west on a winter afternoon, the mist and interlocking valleys entranced me… It wasn’t until later that I recognized Fuji-san nestling in the mist…

  • Right infront of me, a team of blue clad men were readying themselves to tow their procession float. Their silken kimonos were much more grand than the happi coats and yukata of other teams. I shot this detail from behind.. and was very lucky with the lighting.

  • I shot about 60 frames of this wonderful old pumping tower at the dam end of Sayamako in Japan. Hand held, but I think I got it..

  • Stumbling out of the back end of a deep wood near my home, I found a huge boating/fishing lake that I didn’t previously know about. Needless to say all the fish were in the boating half of the lake – they’re not stupid! The lake itself wasn’t so picturesque, but the red and yellow of these boats caught my eye… After the event, I even find myself liking the swans, and am glad that I rattled off a few shots thinking there might just be something worthwhile among them…

  • Taking a grossly overexposed shot and reversing it to achieve a negative, and then pulling and pushing it with contrast and saturation I arrived at a more nightmarish conclusion. In normal light, the metallic tangle would have been flat grey, but horror abounds when you present it completely out of context.

  • I love to walk, in all seasons. If I didn’t, working in an office would be just too much… The spectacular wisps of cloud on a mild winter’s afternoon drew my eye to a lone Oak tree breaking the line of the horizon. Originally shot in colour but, post ‘filtered’ and toned to emulate the black and white printing I used to do long ago…

  • Urban archeology is all around if you look… Windmill Pine has a pair of overhead cranes, each rated up to 10 tons – which is a bit excessive for hefting furniture. Besides which, WP used the cranes as ad-hoc mountings for air ducts – rendering them immovable – which suggests this building owes the greater part of it’s heritage to heavy engineering… Sited on the location of the Wm Foster tractor works [inventors and manufacturers of the world’s first tanks], and just across the road from Rustons [a peace time competitor and fellow tank works], it wouldn’t surprise me if this buliding was used for the production of heavy [agricultural?] equipment at some point.

  • Grumman flying high above the clouds.

  • A capture of a privately owned cessna from Crest Airpark

  • I thought, since ‘Spectrum of the Sky’ is one of my most viewed pictures, I might wanne do a new version with updated skies and an aligned horizon. I hope you like it! P.S. All those picture have been taken on Corsica, except for number 7 which is Switzerland.

  • Well, it’s official. Autumn is here! Summer certainly flew by and while I occasionally wish we had just one more month to squeeze in, I realized that since my fingers are almost frozen, autumn definitely arrived!

  • The many, many hard-working bees of New York City…

  • Taken from Brooklyn Bridge, New York in Early November 2008

  • Brooklyn Bridge, New York / November 2008

  • Maldivian sunset on Landaa Giraavaru – Four Seasons Resort

  • A long time exposure of Marylebone Road. I was playing a bit with the fake tilt shift effect. Hopefully not too much!

  • What a GREAT title! Any suggestions for a better one are very welcome!

  • Fingers frozen, definitely got a cold but it was worth waiting! Early November, from the top of Rockefeller Center’s terrace in New York City.

  • New York Midtown

  • can be quite dangerous, especially when traffic is approaching you from behind and you’ve got the iPod playing.

  • Happy Bokeh Wednesday to everybody!

  • Sunset from the top of Rockefeller Center’s terrace in early November 2008, New York.
