BEST VIEWED FULL SIZE! A big, big thanks to Rosalie Dale IPA for her fabulous and interesting tutorial on the “Vintage” process which I’ve been playing around with ever since I read it yesterday!!! I fell in love with her extraordinary “Vintage Effect” rose, and haven’t been able to focus on anything else!! I encourage anyone interested to hop on over to visit her Journal Entries and give it a look-see!!! Ode To My Family Understand the things I say, don’t turn away from me, / ‘Cause I’ve spent half my life out there, you wouldn’t disagree. / Do you see me? Do you see? Do you like me? / Do you like me standing there? Do you notice? / Do you know? Do you see me? Do you see me? / Does anyone care Unhappiness where’s when I was young, / And we didn’t give a damn, / ‘Cause we were raised, / To see life as fun and take it if we can. / My mother, my mother, / She hold me, she hold me, when I was out there. / My father, my father, / He liked me, oh, he liked me. Does anyone care Understand what I’ve become, it wasn’t my design. / And people ev’rywhere think, something better than I am / But I miss you, I miss, ‘cause I liked it, / ‘Cause I liked it, when I was out there. Do you know this / Do you know you did not find me. You did not find. Yesterday I reported the swarming of thousands of these beautiful creatures in the Mount Burr Forest in the South East of the State. This lot were clustered around the nut on a bolt holding the side plate onto a powerpole. Interestingly I went back today and nearly all of the tens of thousands had disappeared back to wherever they came from. What a magical twenty four hours this was. Thanks to Biggzie (see his site for some great images) I can now tell you that they are the: Common Spotted Ladybird / Harmonia conformis Canon 400D 18 – 55 lens with speedlight.
I’m not sure where I was going with this. I found some bananas and cool retro scales when I was raiding Larry’s kitchen looking for lollies and decided to use them in a photo. Actually, I may have been finding a reason to shoot Lauralie’s gorgeous shoes. I’m not usually a fan of studio shooting, but I must say I enjoyed how few photos I took versus how many shots I was happy with. So something about it agreed with me.
For Kat36 We were on our way out to Stoke Poges the other day and on the way we stopped off to see the horses in a field. So this is the normal photo of the mouthy white horse shot I have. I hope you like it and thank you so much for viewing my work, please call back again soon. Not so little on this great bird, I know… Jimi’s version Here Stevie’s version Here INTERESTING FACTS: Great Blue Heron: Large, elegant heron with blue-gray back, black sides, and gray-and-white striped belly. Long neck is gray with black-bordered white throat stripe. Head has white face, cap, and black crest. Upper mandible is dark, while lower mandible is yellow. Direct flight on steady wing beats. Great Blue Herons congregate at fish hatcheries, potentially creating problems for the fish farmers. However, studies have shown that the herons tend to eat sick fish (which spend more time near the surface) that would have died anyway. They are the largest herons in North America. They eat mainly fish but will also eat other small animals. They have been known to choke to death on prey that is too large. A group of herons has many collective nouns, including a “battery”, “hedge”, “pose”, “rookery”, and “scattering” of herons.* Nikon D60 ~ 55-200 / Mexico Jan-2009
This spider web was nicely covered in dew this morning, so it really showed up well. Had to take a few pictures. From the ground to the top, it is about 4.5 feet. I can’t imagine the size of the spider that made it! / / / /
