I’ve been to Yosemite National Park several times in spring and summer. It’s always been a treat every time. Despite the many visitors this park draws, we manage to avoid the crowd by going early in the season or taking on trails that are less popular. Visiting Yosemite National in the winter was a visual delight, especially just hours after a snowstorm – which was the case when my husband and I decided to strap our snowshoes on and break snow for 7.6 miles via Badger Pass Trail. This is Dewey Point. Despite the patches of heavy fog, you can see Half Dome to the distant right.

May 2008. It was unusually hot that week in the Bay Area. Temperatures reached 100s inland, 90s where we live. Along with the heat, came an unusual fiery display in the sky. On our right, a bit obscured with houses and trees is the Oakland Mormon Temple. Thanks to my husband who held me steady as I stood on top of our railing, I was able to get a zoom shot. Soon I hope to come up closer and spend an early evening photographing this beautiful temple. Canon 30D, 70-200mm. / Handheld. Shot in RAW. No post processing other than crop, resizing and re-saving in JPG.
Mt. Rainier. Airplane rides make me antsy. So en route to a destination, I find ways and look for things to relax myself. A view like this sometimes helps. :)

Oahu, Hawaii. The Byodo-In is a Buddhist Temple that is a replica of the 900 year old Byodo-In in Uji, Japan. It had been raining all morning that day. Just when we were about to leave, the clouds above the temple broke giving way to some light, long enough for me to take this shot.
