A supermodel, dead. An actor, dead, in the same way no less. Artists all over the world still alive yet most of them without any recognition. Did you know that the t shirt design for Disarm has a nifty white bit so if you do happen to meet me or Ivana you could politely ask us to autograph it. then do the right thing and flog it at Fraser’s Autographs! But thats the bottom feeder of the pack. You want the ace don’t you?! Did you know that I am selling the original of Disarm in a quant flowershop in little ol’ Paddington! Alan Bond was a smart man to have obtained Van Gogh’s “Iris’s” as his investment back in 1988. Who would have known that would be a ticket in his “get out of jail” card?! But he did and at a great price! It was in the “before they were enormous” stage of the painter’s mojo. Same now is happening with Vintage guitars. Here’s a tip, the stuff looks great on t shirts, but the original’s a whole lot better! DL. / X

Last night while visiting my parents my dad gave me a briefcase for me to have as the family keeper, so to speak, of items i didn’t even know existed. Most of my ancestors were poor so nothing ever was passed down except an old iron or oil lamp. Inside the briefcast were items that belonged to my great grandfather and his father. Life magazines dated from the 40’s, gazettes and other various readings. There are field binoculars from WWI and a compass with it’s leather strap. Also are various stock shares for a company that after looking on the net do not seem to exist (damn) Also inside was a leather pouch with a carrying strap which I opened and found a box, upon closer examation i’d be damned if it was a camera. I opened it, peeked inside and carefully figured out how to move teh components. Because of rust the lens would not slide all the way down the track but when i pulled out the metering slide i could maneuver the lens out to look at it all. How beautiful! / This is an example off the internet of what it looks like…however not the exact model i have as mine is older and more basic. I was excited! The backing where the film goes was more difficult to get open but it looked like it took 35mm, but i dont know how to work it. Also was a larger more heaver item in the briefcase and opening it’s outer lid it was BEAUTIFUL – a poloroid land camera model 95a. Upon researching this i was disappointed that film was no longer sold for it and i’m not savvy enough to figure out by some internet sites how to get it working by means of conversion and such. it’s sad that they are of nominal value…at least the above. But does anybody know anything about the first camera mentioned above? The lens shows it’s a voigtlander anastigmatat voigtar 1:6,3 f=9 cm No other information i can find and i’m more curious about if i can find out a date this camera was made. I’m assuming prior to 1920 based on the fact most of the models i found on the net that are similiar appear a bit more modern than this one. Does anyone here have or collect antique cameras? I was so thrilled to find this one was in the family and found its way to me.

I was just found out that my entry… “International R-190 Series” has won the Group Logo and Avatar Challenge for the / Dirty Pretty Things Group This is such an honor and I want to thank any and all who may have voted to help make this happen! Believe it or not…this picture is a result of a morning walk with my son Ryan…I had this overwhelming draw to this old sawmill and this huge relic of a well drilling truck. We would see it everyday up on a hill along the route we would take for our desert morning excersize. / I kept telling Ryan, after we walked around and took pictures of the jackpot of awesome “Dirty Pretty Things”, that the Well Drilling truck was smiling at me and I needed to take it’s picture!..... Okay, I know what you are all going to think…but just ask my family, these things happen to me ALL THE TIME!!! / Thaks again so much! / Susan

Today was a busy one I must say. I had to go into Uni today for a report, then go off on wild errands all opver town. I did however get to walk into my favourite little Antique store for a browse… I am a big fan of Art Nouveau and almost as big in Art deco. Today I cam across a very nice ornate crimson coloured marble Deco clock with a nice silver Bear on the side. Oh it was a majestic beauty. I am big fan of Art Deco time peices so to describe how tempting this wonder was would make me look like some Junkie. I did some reaearch on the types of clocks when I got home and found out that the clock in question is worth considerably more then 6 times its valued price. Now I have some money stashed for overseas but this is really a one of thing (especially here in Adelaide.) Especially in economic times like these is spending the money on such a clock worth it? Then again if it’s a quality antique it should never really depreciate, that’s how I justify it lol. How sad am I to get so worked up over a clock? I big you goodnight or morning or whatever your timezone reads. I have Nina Simone singing (Don’t smoke in bed) so it’s time for me think. Have a woderful time all. / Andrew

/ credit Darin Schnabel/RM Auctions Is This NOT GOREGOUS?! Wow Im a huge antique car lover and I gotta say this is a true beauty! / For those that don’t know it’s a 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa and it’s $12.1 million Dollars. Now the only ppl i saw buying this little charmer were Donald Trump, Sir Alan Sugar, Duncan Bannatyne, Gordon Ramsey, and Jay Leno. Unfortunately the article doesnt say who bought it this time, but it was owned prior by U.S. Actor James Coburn (who incidently got 10.9 million for it last year.) Article said: It sold at auction when it fetched an eye-popping $12.1 million on Sunday, May 17, at an event on the grounds of the Ferrari factory in Maranello, Italy. The Testa Rossa was one of just 22 produced from 1957 to 1958, and the Scaglietti design is marked by prominent pontoon fenders. The cars also were successful racers, winning 10 of the 19 international races they entered from 1958 to 1961. The car sold Sunday wears chassis No. 0714TR, and it finished fourth at the Buenos Aires 1,000-kilometer race in 1958 — its debut in competition. The car was then sold to an American collector, who raced it extensively in SCCA events. The Testa Rossa, which translates to “red head” in Italian, beat the price set by another Ferrari, the 1961 250 GT SWB California Spider. The Testa Rossa was sold at an auction run by RM Auctions and Sotheby’s, called the Leggenda e Passione. / /

Hello RedBubblers, It has been a while since my last illustration upload to RedBubble. I have been busy with deadlines, vintage photo restoration and burning the midnight oil. Since I work digitally, vintage, damaged photographs are adaptable to any format of your choice. No waiting for the mail! You scan your photo, send it to me as an e-mail attachment and I am ready to go. Depending on the degree of restoration I can be done within a couple of days. Then I send you the completed work as an attachment in an e-mail message. This allows you to save your restored photo in your files and create your own uses (some people are sending their restoration as greeting cards. Great idea) If you would like my assistance in achieving your vision by restoring treasured old photographs, simply e-mail me and I’ll let you know my fee. (I promise it won’t cost you an arm and a leg!) Best regards to all. Wildwings
