maybe it’s something that a lotta people outside America don’t understand….how we have this romance with the automobile. We view it as a gateaway to the wide open highway, elegance and freedom, able to take us anywhere we wish to go….leaving the stress and daily rat race behind us. It is even more prevailing in classic cars. The reflection on the past, when elegance, romance, style, and a simple life is what it equates. And speaking of romance, style and elegance, the Cadillac had all that. This is a 1949 model….and I wish it was mine. I wish I could just get in it and drive, westward California. Yeah romance the American way… / Thoughts welcomed! —-John —-—-—-—-—-—-— / More of my work can be seen on my website at http://jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. The last of the three major pyramids at Giza is the pyramid for Pharaoh Menkaure. After this, the building of pyramids at the Giza plateau stopped – in fact, it’s believed this pyramid was completed after the Pharaoh’s death. From this vantage point, the pyramid seems lost and alone against the backdrop of the land and sky. It’s amazing to bear witness to the works of men who lived and died, like we all will, 4,000 years ago. UNESCO World Heritage Site /
this is the webb bridge in melbourne, i thought this photo looked good in b & w so here is the final product enjoy i hope, this is the new and approved version, enjoy

Take one 1960 Hotrod Chevy Pickup at a car show in the rain, close focus and crop in camera, and then shove it thru custom settings in LucisArt and use the channel mixer for B&W, and you get something that looks like the textures will just eat you alive! I really like how this one came out…there is just so much to see in this….. / Thoughts welcomed! / —-John
When Mercury made some of the badest cars around, when the lines were designed and Chrome reflected it’s wonderful colors. When Rock & Roll was just being born, and tailfins were the norm. Welcome to the Montclair Timewarp! HDR processed, selective vignetting, custom retro color curves, selective dodging and burning. All I can say is that I am ordering a 24×36 print for my wall! I love how this one came out! Thoughts welcomed!
Brilliant classic and personal photograph of one of my favourite subjects, classic cars.

Hotrods & Kustoms are a specialty of mine, so get ready to see a whole LOT more! I L O V E 60’s Cadillac’s, I love em even more when they are 1960-1966, this one being a ‘64. Even more when they are lowered with painted wheels, have Lake Pipes, and wide whitewalls! Welcome to the West Side Sinners Kar Klub, hailing from Denver, Colorado, and bring you more hair grease than a can of 40 weight motor oil! I saw this in front of their shop with a few of their other rides and had to stop, it was mandatory. No one around at all, I started shooting away…was kinda nice not having to worry about a ton of people at a car show for once. The building in the background which you will see in upcoming shots, provided a nice authentic backdrop as well. Processed from RAW in Lightroom, then onwards to PS and LucisArt. —-John

This classic Pontiac was parked near a Starbucks – I couldn’t resist taking a few shots when I came out with my latte!! / Update: / After much searching, I found the owner of this vehicle…who himself was covered in fabulous tattoos. / Turns out he borrowed a lace tablecloth from his girlfriend who works in a very well known hotel here, placed it on the car and spray painted it. How inventive!! and how effective!! / I gave him several copies of the shots I’d taken and he was beaming. Canon 400D FEATURED in Live, Love, Dream (01 16 09).

This wonderful 1935–1937 Morris Eight, vintage car was parked near Fingle Bridge, Devon, today. I couldn’t resist taking some shots of it! I love the reflection of the dropped leaves in the paint work on the door. Nikon D40 18-55mm I chose this image, which I desaturated a bit and added a texture to, to try and keep the feel in time with the car….. Did I make the right choice? / I have also added this below in full colour and B&W which do you think is the better image?
