  • I love 58 Chevy’s…one of my favorite cars. An old shot that I was able to salvage because of my editing skills improving. Needless to say I am happy I was able to! Now generally as a rule of thumb, I would KO the powerlines, but this time I left them in intentionally. Why? Well I started to KO them then went back, after noticing that without them, the telephone pole is just kinda strange and they add a sense of perspective in this shot. Processed with Photoshop, LucisArts, Virtual Photographer, about 7 layers, and custom color retro actions using curves. —-—-—-—-—-- / More of my work can be seen on my website at http://jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. • I suppose you can say I have always been a sucker for old cars, especially Hotrods. There is something about the design and style of the years gone by, that todays designers in the automotive world have lost…the subtle curves of the body line, the way the trim fits along the body, and the overall composition and style….rolling sculpture. Elegance and style which is no longer created by the manufacturers but now recreated by those who spend many a late night out in the garage building a Kustom, wielding the torch, throwing the lead, and hammering the seams. Art it one of it’s most purest forms. Creativity personified. This is quite an older shot but remains one of my favorites, the color in this and the reflection caught my eye when I first captured it. I am not a huge fan of tri-year Chevy’s, but this ‘56 was just to good to pass up. Hope you all like it as much as I do / —-John / —-—-—-—-—-—-—— See more on my website jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. • First of all, big kudos go to fellow bubbler Kevin Kroeker, who gave me a great idea of some add’l post processing steps which I had not tried before, until this image. HDR Image of an antique shiny black car with tons of chrome. I don’t know why, but I absolutely love this image. Hope you do as well. My art with 1000+ views

  • Captured on an Indian Reservation in New Mexico, I have always loved 49-51 Ford Coupe’s…rare, they make one of the best Kustoms ever…and if I coulda found the owner and had a tow truck, I would have towed this all the way back home to Colorado with me! What a scene…...processed in HDR…thoughts welcomed!

  • When Mercury made some of the badest cars around, when the lines were designed and Chrome reflected it’s wonderful colors. When Rock & Roll was just being born, and tailfins were the norm. Welcome to the Montclair Timewarp! HDR processed, selective vignetting, custom retro color curves, selective dodging and burning. All I can say is that I am ordering a 24×36 print for my wall! I love how this one came out! Thoughts welcomed!

  • Full view please :) The amazing Stacey Yount has again surprised me with a beautiful poem to accompany this image. I Always Have You Near Me is the second collaboration for Stacey and myself. Stacey is an amazing poet and a lovely person as well. Here is I Always Have You Near Me: I always have you near me / Even if you are far away Your love is carried to me / On the whisper of butterfly wings / Even when you are far away A zephyr sings it through the trees / And brings me joy / Even as I wait for you to return from far away Every exquisite blossom I see / Reminds me of the magnificent shades of our love / Even though you may be far away You are in my mind / A part of my soul / and are my heart See, I always feel you near me / Even if you are far away ..::Stock Photo Credit::.. / Female model / Male model / Background (trying to locate stock) / Butterflies If you like this, please check out: / / /

  • Original Creation Date: May 5th, 2006 Meaning ‘antiquity’, I wanted this portrait to portray a sense of timelessness, yet also capture a somewhat haunting quality that I always find myself associating with the mid 1600’s. Charcoal on 90 lb paper, 16” x 20”, freehand. / Model: Tessa Beebe Original Sold: Victoria, BC Canada

  • This was captured near Yale Michigan.

  • “Angels we have heard on high / Sweetly singing o’er the plains, / And the mountains in reply / Echoing their joyous strains. / Gloria, in excelsis Deo! / Gloria, in excelsis Deo!” This is the angel from our family’s Fontanini Nativity set. The texture layers really transformed the original image. The new image now looks like an antique fresco-perhaps something from a Vatican ceiling. The textures also added the dramatic “old Hollywood” lighting to the background. With all the craziness and insanity in today’s world we can never have too many angels in our lives. Olympus E-10 w/ built-in zoom. /

  • Framed portrait of the main character ” Gluttony” in the upcoming animated short Appleheart. Appleheart will be the first in a series of short animated films set in a twisted universe inhabited by the “Seven Deadly Sins”. “In a world of nothingness, Gluttony is hungry” This design is also available in black and gray.
