  I just got so mad when I went to put gas today that I took my frustrations out on Drawing Day and felt all better.   This is my entry to APG’s Weekend T-Shirt Challenge that asks designers to predict the future…250 years into the future to be exact. And, while many predict bleak glimpses and a few depict happy shiny places, I have chosen to depict the inevitable decline of our U.S. economy (because, at the rate it is going, we are almost there) into the era of “Land of the Free Gift with Purchase and Home of the Buyer.” That’s right, Wal-Mart will take over and rule the nation! But, hey, it’s already a bully, so maybe we’ll eventually gain world domination! And, who knows, maybe price cuts (aka “rollbacks”, in Wal-Mart lingo) and senior citizens greeting at the borders are what this country really needs?!? / CREATION INFORMATION Medium: Mixed Media Design, Digital Illustration, Vector Art.   Written for a competition where the theme is ‘doubt’, this poem aims to raise doubt in the reader over the idea of existence and consumerism. It is a lonely poem and the protagonist, I believe, is a lonely aristocrat with little understanding of his purpose in life. This poem has a picture: Flickering Fire.

It always makes me feel so proud to be featured amongst some very stiff competition. So thank you, thank you, thank you for the bottom of my filthy rotten heart.   Lovers Key Florida State park: on the wild side

  Lover’s Key is a small group of mangrove islands located in Lee County between Ft. Myers Beach, Fl, and Bonita Beach. It’s right on the Gulf of Mexico. The islands are collectively known as Lover’s Key State Park (formerly Carl E. Johnson Park). Inland backwaters full of fish, birds, and marine life, separate the islands from each other. Boats with motors are not allowed within the Park, but motorboats are allowed in the Gulf and Bay waters surrounding the Park, and there is a boat ramp within the park. This is to protect the abundant wildlife, which includes manatees, dolphins, various herons and roseate spoonbills, ospreys, bald eagles, raccoons, rabbits, squirrels, snook, mullet, rays, and a large variety of shellfish.
