  • Animal
    by Spraven

I had it in check, / Gods, / believe me I beg, / I kneel, / forgive me,

Being the one who bares the worries of others, can only find a snapping point, the straw that broke the camels back, no-one asked him how he was, friend, sure, when they needed help, never when he reached a hand, did one turn a glance. So he snaps from all the pressure…sad story, although this probably has happened, the human mind is very fragile, help each other out with kindness and love and compassion and see a better world….

  • Animal Asanas
    by Helena Nelson-Reed

Feeling under the weather? Try a simple meditation and asanas from the animal realm.

This is a light piece, inspired by the dogs, cats and birds in my life. Our dogs have taught me much about enjoying life. When I take them to the dog park (several wonderful acres of fenced dog -safe prairie and paths) ears, eyes and tails perk up once we head toward the forest preserve. This has to be the happiest place around. Dogs running, leaping, exploring and fetching. The owners, a full spectrum of race, gender, age, personality, faith, education and class, laugh and chat. No politics or bitching here – the dog’s happiness infects us all. This is THE place to go when you need ajump start of positive energy.

  • I am not an Animal
    by Robert Knapman

I just love the way she stares me down / Like she wants / My blood Thick / On toast

Edit…thanks also to all those who I see have viewed and read this poem. Cheers. Nice to have visiters ,) A poem that just evolved today – the way poetry sometimes does. Somehow intuitively, somehow from somewhere that must belong to me. Bits of me. It uses words and combinations of words that have come together over months I think, and which I’ve saved (as bits), and then constructed / reconstructed and grown. This poem has become an open interpretation of what stops, what gets in the way and what, maybe, should never have been. This is also a distraction from study :) Peace.
