Until the 19th century, the Spanish Horse was the first horse of Europe, and the one on which the classical equitation of the Renaissance schools was based. Complete 2006
Horse Near Spanish Fork Utah
Wild foal in Utah. One of the only shots I was able to get of this little guy away from his mother.
I took this photograph in 2006. / I have been living in a village where there is a horse farm very close to our house. My wife with the children and I spend a lot of time on this farm, since we keep our own horses here as well. As long as they are riding a horse I am taking photographs of the horses. This is one of my favorite subjects in the photography.
Don Quixote met the wind mills. He insists on attacking them since he thinks they are giant evildoers, as consequence Don Quixote encounters over its lance and it falls to is accustomed to finishing therefore the problem of the mills, or giants as it continued affirming Don Quixote…
Here is a Spanish Andalusian, drawn in colour pencil, with pastel background.

Once again I have used my own horse as a model for this. Although she looks absolutely nothing like it. She is a black standardbred and this one looks more like a liver chestnut quarter horse x. But the photo I used had the angle and lighting I was looking for and then I just used my artists license with the rest! Acrylic on canvas board 40.6×50.8cm 2008 Sold at ‘Different Voices’ exhibition, Oct 2009.

Lipica stud farm is the only unified, intact medieval farm estate in our country. The breeding of karst horses and the Lipizzaner breed started more intensively after 1580, when the Habsburg Archduke Charles bought the older estate of the bishop of Trieste. The foundation of the Lipizzaner breed is the indigenous Karst horse, refined with Spanish, Napolitan and Arabian horses. A fast and teachable horse was bred for the needs of the court, military and the Spanish Riding School. The karstic conditions, stony area and north “bora” wind were especially suitable for developing stamina and resilience in the horses and were therefore chosen intentionally. The stallions are normally darker, and with age the horses take on their characteristic white colour. In Lipica there are six basic bloodlines of stallions: Conversano, Favory, Maestozo, Neapolitano, Pluto, Siglavy, and more than a dozen bloodlines of mares.
This is the only word I can come up with for my image of this gorgeous quarter horse mare. The first impressionists took advantage of the introduction of premixed paints in tubes where paint is laid on an area of the surface very thickly, usually thickly enough that the brush or painting-knife strokes are visible. / Characteristics of impressionist paintings include visible brush strokes, open composition, emphasis on light in its changing qualities effecting colour, the inclusion of movement as a crucial element of human perception, and unusual visual angles. / Short, thick strokes of paint are used to quickly capture the essence of the subject, rather than its details. The paint is often applied impasto. / Colours are applied side-by-side with as little mixing as possible, creating a vibrant surface. The optical mixing of colours occurs in the eye of the viewer. / My form of impressionism starts with digital photography and I then develop this into my own art form and exploit the aspects of the digital painting medium embracing and showing the painterly aspect, rather than trying to hide the act of creation. My work is hand painted digital painting and is an emerging art form in which traditional painting techniques such as watercolor, oils, etc. are applied using digital tools by means of a computer, a digitizing tablet and stylus, and software. Digital painting differs from other forms of digital art, particularly computer-generated art, in that it does not involve the computer rendering from a model. The artist uses painting techniques to create the digital painting directly on the computer. / I create the painting, directly on my PC, by using a Wacom tablet, a stylus pen and ArtRage painting software. The Wacom tablet can be compared to a canvas or watercolor paper surface. The stylus pen is my paintbrush.
