Ducks In The Woods /
We all know the feeling… after a massive Christmas lunch or dinner you just want to sit back and relax.
This motive has been on the bubble as a T-shirt for a while, and I’ve had a few requests for posters so here we are. / I don’t know why I didn’t do this from the beginning, but anyway better late than never I guess. It has been my best selling tee ever so far, and it is one of the vector pictures I am the most proud of. / The concept of this design was an idea I had bumping around in my head for a very long time before I jumped in to it and first put it to paper. / It was tossed around for a while together with thousands of ideas and idea snippets, collected throughout my life. / Ideas I take care of in notepads and on paper scraps of different origin and quality that I stuff in to boxes of different orig….a.s.f. Then one day (triggered by a vid I saw on the youtube. It was about how animals in African wild parks are exploited for cash) I had the idea with the blood and that was it…I went straight for the computer and scanned my sketches of the zebra/barcode ideas. Then I brought it all together in Adobe Illustrator for execution (My absolute favourite vector app.). I let the design sit on my computer screen for a couple of days as I did tiny little corrections now and then. / Afterwards I hid it for a few weeks, and then I published it after a few more minor enhancements…..and voila! POS /

“Wee Willie Winkie on Xmas Eve” / oil on canvas – 6”x8” / animal art My version of Wee Willie Winkie with his Teddy on Xmas eve. Did you know the origin of the Wee Willie Winkie? / The explanation of the words to Wee Willie Winkie was to teach children to associate every day tasks with their own lives. Before the days of the wireless, television and the Internet great reliance was put upon the Town Crier to pass on the latest news and information. ‘Wee Willie Winkie’ was the children’s version of the Town Crier! The author of the poem was William Miller (1810 – 1872) and the first publication date of the words to Wee Willie Winkie was in 1841. / /
