Not the Chinese dictator, but our lovely cat Mao :-) Here is the photo I took for reference – I am sure you’ll agree I didn’t just do a straight copy. Who can resist these eyes? This image is a reproduction of my original color pencil painting on drafting paper of ’”Blink” a beautiful cat owned by a fellow artist. “Blink” was placed Second in the Painting – Drawing Any Subject category at the 2008 Canning Show (First Place was awarded to my colour pencil painting “We Three Kings II – Lion” and Third to “Noble” my German Shepherd Dog in charcoal (yes I was very pleased with this Hat Trick!).

Sorry to all those who don’t like “pets and babies” photos… ;) This is my kitty trying to catch a fly on the window last night… The sun was coming down into our living room which gave that nice glow on one side of his face. I was originally going to make it all black & white but I just couldn’t bring myself to leave his gorgeous blue eye out! Update 22/03/2009: / Thanks to all your comments this photo is now on page #1 of the “most popular pictures of all times”! A Parents Prayer for their sick child. / (2 Samuel 12:22) David answered: While he was still alive, I went without food and cried because there was still hope. I said to myself, “Who knows? Maybe the LORD will have pity on me and let the child live.” / I am an Irish born Missionary living in London I spend much time living with the Kambari tribe, I get to know first hand the challenges they face each day just to survive. I also have the privilege of capturing not only hunger, sickness and often death, but the more happy occasions. This is Grace, and when I first met Grace in April 2007, she was suffering from Chronic Malnutrition, adn intestinal worm infection. This was taken in December 2007, and the difference in 2009 is wonderful. Thank you to all who prayed and donated towards saving Grace. Please do Pray for these precious suffering people in extreme poverty and for us as we press on in our mission to help them. I believe in the power of Prayer and a mighty God. />I am a missionary born in Northern Ireland and living in London for the past 23 years. This photograph of Angelena was taken while at a Church service in, Nigeria. This was the first time i met her. She was sitting at the back of the church against the wall on a seat all alone. I used full zoom and took over 50 photographs of her. This is the only one that came out good. this was not a planned pose and I caught her like this without her knowing. she was quite a distance from me. I was sitting on the platform waiting to be called to speak. This young Girl inspired me so much. Her young life is an inspiration to me of how faith and hope can carry us through difficult times. Angelina is 12 years old . She is one of the children we have been caring for for the past three years. When we found her three years ago she was close to death and without Parents. Three years later she is loved and attends school. We can and do make a difference to children in extreme poverty and sick. All it takes is Love and a heart of compassion to sow a little time and money into a child’s life and you will see the transformation. Angelina was dying from malaria when we first saw her. Now she lives a full life. She says she wants to be a doctor and help others who are sick. God bless her and all who helped us in helping her. 100% of all proceeds from sales of my art ,donated art, and donations made via Philadelphia Mission Charity website, goes to help extreme poor in Isolated and Rural villages in Africa. / framed print (walnut frame with off white matt) I used a lot of media in this painting….. / chalk pastels, faber castelle black markers, charcoal, aquarelle watercolour crayons wet and dry, acrylics….on Canson canvas textured paper A2 size / it has been tweaked in photoshop to add brightness and contrast, etc. It’s from a series i’ve been wanting to get a start on for over a year, so this is the first one in the “Mothers and Daughters series”....I’m not sure if i’ll do more or not yet…i hope to….just has to be when the inspiration comes though…. I worked on this til 4am this morning …. oops! I hope you like it anyway, there is a sombre mood about it I guess, but not necessarily dark or negative….tears are healing, they really are….....

PLEASE READ THIS DESCRIPTION. [AS IS} / I am a missionary, born in Northern Ireland and living in London. my passion in life is to help the poor in rural and isolated villages in Africa and India. Abhijeet in Hindu language means “one who is victorious, a star”. She certainly lives up to her name. 3 years old and already has faced abuse, and hunger. She was close to death and in much pain. Abijeet is one child we rescued through The INDIAN NEW LIFE MISSION, based in India. Her smile melted my heart and as I was told her story I could not help give God thanks for the few Indian Christians that reached out to her. With little money, they took her into the Orphanage, where now she is cared for. I now have sponsored Abijeet and for only £10 per month, she is fed, clothed and will attend a full education when she is old enough. I do not get financial funding from any Church, My own income is little. But I made my mind up a long time ago to share what God has blessed me with with the poor. I have not gone hungry, nor my family. I rent my home, and drive a car. My children are all educated and blessed by God. I have lacked nothing,because blesses the sower. Gods burning Love and Passion for the outcast and poor burns deep within my heart, and hopefully can be seen throgh my life and camera lens. Abijeet is a shining star and a true testimony of what Love and sharing can do. Please Pray for me, that I can bless many more suffering children like Abijeet. Strengthen my arm in Gods mission to reach the hurting of this world with his love and care. Pray and do what the Lord lays on your heart. You will become richer for it. Western green mamba (Dendroaspis viridis). West Africa. / Closely related to the Eastern green mamba and the Black mamba. Although it has a similar, dangerously neurotoxic venom as the black mamba, it is not as potent and injects smaller quantities. It is also not as nervous as its cousin.
