Geoffrey Gordon Lindsay, 1954 – 1997 The Original Aboriginal Artwork was created by Geoffrey Gordon Lindsay born in the Riverland, South Australia at Gerard Mission. Geoffrey was part of the Nurenjuri Tribe, his skin name being PONDI meaning Murray Cod which came about from being born two feet from the rivers edge. He used the word PONDI as a signature to mark all of the original artwork that he produced. Geoffrey was taken away from his parents at the age of eighteen months and was placed in a boys home. At the age of twelve he was diagnosed with polio and at the age of eighteen he was re-united with his parents. From here Geoffrey went on to a lot of travelling around Australia and it was from these and future experiences which influenced the artwork he created. At the age of twenty eight he discovered that he had a natural creative ability and began to produce paintings on artboard and canvas. The materials used to create his unique artwork varied greatly, combining the use of coloured pencil, acrylic paint, crayons, markers, charcoal and plaka. He also combined a lot of different techniques such as sponging, spray painting, rubbings and an assortment of brush stroke styles. Geoffrey’s artwork was inspired by his life experiences and influenced by the plants and wildlife of the Australian Outback, people that he met and the traditional aboriginal food and culture.

This was taken on a pond in the Coomera area of Queensland, Australia. / This lovely creature alighted on a leaf and very obligingly posed for me. I caught this shot right before she floated away. The shot has been modified in photoshop and has already been used in a recently refurbished bedroom as wall art. / It was taken with a Nikon D50
Just a bug hanging out on the tip of this rose bud. I like the bigs little feelers they are so cute! I do not use any Photo editing on my images.

This was just a test image for a new lens I recently bought, I decided to keep it and test out a few new scripts in GIMP. I used a centre highlight script with a vignetting effect. I also added contrast to bring the colour out. Nikon D90 / NIKKOR DX 55-200mm VR-on / Shutter: 1/250 sec. / F Number: f5.4 / ISO: 750 / Focal: 200mm / No flash.
