  • another photog friend and i, had the wonderful opportunity of being the only two around, while this cub was going from tree to tree looking for food, shot this early thursday morning, so awesome to be around these animals

  • T Wing

  • This animal rights graphic features a black and white sketch of a beautiful cow with the caption, Every Hamburger Begins With An Animal Begging For Its Life.

  • Giraffe Calf, Marwell Zoo, Hampshire, England.

  • Eurasian Eagle Owl. Birdworld, Farnham, England.

  • Asian Small-Clawed Otter shows off amazing dexterity as he plays with a pebble. Its one of those shots that you don’t really realise what your photographing until you download the image! ;o)

  • Baby Red Squirrel. mercilessly stalked by JackyP and myself at the British Wildlife Centre in Surrey, Saturday 20 September. Our better halfs had to nearly drag us away from these entertaining and soooooo pretty critters! We even thought that RB should now be renamed Red Squirrel Bubble!!! :o) First published pic out of my new Canon EOS 50D, which I collected that morning! I’ve even read some of the manual! How sad is that?! ;o)

  • Australian Black Swans. I don’t remember whether they kissed or fought – you try and guess from their expressions! ;o)

  • European Red Fox Canon EOS 50D with Canon EF 400mm L f/5.6 lens

  • Female Snowy Owl. The females have these dark bars whereas the males are almost pure white!

  • Young Slender Tailed Meerkat keeps a lookout from the group gathering.

  • This fella didn’t seem to mind the cold – this is the first time I saw him out and about – he was more evasive in the summer weather (I use the term “summer” loosely as I’m still waiting for summer 2008 to start!) ;o) American Mink at the British Wildlife Centre, December 2008. Canon EOS 5D Mk II with Canon EF 400mm L f/5.6 ISO1250 (ye gads!?)

  • Golden Eagle (aquila chrysaetos) looking every bit the king of the skies! As a marmot I suppose I should steer well clear of these critters! Canon EOS 5D MkII with Canon EOS 400mm L f/5.6 handheld

  • Caribbean Flamingo (phoenicopterus ruber) having a jolly good splash! He was a bit of a pain as he kept sticking his head under the water (not very elegant) but obviously enough snaps paid off. Birdworld, Surrey, England – 15 April 2009. Canon EOS 5D MkII with Canon EF 70-200mm L IS f/4 handheld

  • Juvenile Bateleur Eagle (terathopius ecaudatus). I can’t help but be reminded of the Alien Queen in the Alien movies, with its flared head gear. Maybe I need stronger tablets… When this featherball is mature, it will have black feathers and a red beak. Hawk Conservancy, Andover, Hampshire Canon EOS 5D MkII with Canon EF 400mm f/5.6 L

  • I am sooooo pleased that I planted this Crab Apple tree nearly 20 years ago when we moved into our (then) brand new home. The tree has grown up to provide a wonderful haven for all our garden birds, large and small alike – winter and summer. Today it was full of fledgling birds – starlings, blackbirds, sparrows, (even a squirrel!) and cuties like this Great Tit (parus major) – all waiting, preening, dozing (hard life being a baby bird) and begging for food! Wish I could share it all with you but this one guy will have to serve as the ambassador for the cause! Difficult to get shots now the leaves are on the trees, but this one obliged! Canon EOS 50D with Canon EF 400mm f/5.6 L

  • Featured in the LMAO Art group / Featured in the Your Accepted group / Featured in the Baby Animal group 8 week old African Lion cub in captivity Cheshire UK Shot with Canon 1D mk3 Indoors in dark room from behind wired enclosure ISO 2500

  • Thank you all so much for your kind comments on my previous shots of “Luna”, the Red Fox Cub! Just one last pic before I try to find another theme….......

  • This little guy or gal seemed to have become separated from siblings and parents, but I’m sure some swan soon claimed it. I would have happily taken it home… if my bunnies would have allowed it! ;o) Mute Swan cygnet (cygnus olor) at Abbotsbury Swannery, Dorset. Canon EOS 5D Mk II with Canon EF 400mm L f/5.6

  • There’s a special spot on the lake where my son and I used to spend time when we lived a block from the water. You can lay on your stomach at the edge of a cliff that juts out over the water and look down into a deep pool of water around the rocks. If the lighting is just right you can see all sorts of interesting fish and turtles swimming around “Just Below The Surface”. :)
