Sorry to all those who don’t like “pets and babies” photos… ;) This is my kitty trying to catch a fly on the window last night… The sun was coming down into our living room which gave that nice glow on one side of his face. I was originally going to make it all black & white but I just couldn’t bring myself to leave his gorgeous blue eye out! Update 22/03/2009: / Thanks to all your comments this photo is now on page #1 of the “most popular pictures of all times”! Abhijeet in Hindu language means “one who is victorious, a star”. She certainly lives up to her name. 3 years old and already has faced abuse, and hunger. She was close to death and in much pain. Abijeet is one child we rescued through The INDIAN NEW LIFE MISSION, based in India. Her smile melted my heart and as I was told her story I could not help give God thanks for the few Indian Christians that reached out to her. With little money, they took her into the Orphanage, where now she is cared for. I now have sponsored Abijeet and for only £10 per month, she is fed, clothed and will attend a full education when she is old enough. I do not get financial funding from any Church, My own income is little. But I made my mind up a long time ago to share what God has blessed me with with the poor. I have not gone hungry, nor my family. I rent my home, and drive a car. My children are all educated and blessed by God. I have lacked nothing,because blesses the sower. Gods burning Love and Passion for the outcast and poor burns deep within my heart, and hopefully can be seen through my life and camera lens. Abijeet is a shining star and a true testimony of what Love and sharing can do. Please Pray for me, that I can bless many more suffering children like Abijeet. [Camera setting at end of description] [Featured in: Everyday woman-postcard style cards-Pathway to the soul-brutish portrait artists-African art & photography]] This photograph of Angelina was taken while at a Church service in, Koi town-Nigeria. This was the first time I met her. She was sitting at the back of the church against the wall on a seat all alone. I used full zoom and took over 50 photographs of her. This is the only one that came out good. this was not a planned pose and I caught her like this without her knowing. she was quite a distance from me. I was sitting on the platform waiting to be called to speak. This young Girl inspired me so much. Her young life is an inspiration to me of how faith and hope can carry us through difficult times. Angelina is 12 years old . She is one of the children we have been caring for for the past three years. When we found her three years ago she was close to death and without Parents. Three years later she is loved and attends school. We can and do make a difference to children in extreme poverty and sick. All it takes is Love and a heart of compassion to sow a little time and money into a child’s life and you will see the transformation. Angelina is a true success story. Without our help she would not have attended school.Now she lives a full life. She says she wants to be a doctor and help others who are sick. This is the colour version of the HDR sunset shot at Mannum that has come up with an amazing dogs face in the lower left portion of the image. Shot taken between Mannum and Young Husband near the Marina. No photoshop manipulation the dogs face just appeared. Dave from mannum was with me that night shooting just a little to my right and the face didn’t appear in his images. Canon 400D polarising filter – 18- 55 lens HDR and converted in Photomatix…

/ framed print (walnut frame with off white matt) I used a lot of media in this painting….. / chalk pastels, faber castelle black markers, charcoal, aquarelle watercolour crayons wet and dry, acrylics….on Canson canvas textured paper A2 size / it has been tweaked in photoshop to add brightness and contrast, etc. It’s from a series i’ve been wanting to get a start on for over a year, so this is the first one in the “Mothers and Daughters series”....I’m not sure if i’ll do more or not yet…i hope to….just has to be when the inspiration comes though…. I worked on this til 4am this morning …. oops! I hope you like it anyway, there is a sombre mood about it I guess, but not necessarily dark or negative….tears are healing, they really are….....

2313 views 6/2/10 Lolly is the sweetest munchkin, I love her to death! Although I am really, really going to miss my cousin and her gorgie daughter when they move to Macau my compensation is the addition to my family of this little girl. It’s a bit tricky now having a Tolly and a Lolly! When I growl at Lolly for jumping all over the elderly Tolly, Tolly often gives me this kind of “what did I do?” look! But Lolly was named by the afore-mentioned gorgie daughter of my cousin who is 3 years old so there it is.

India. she has never gone to school because her parents cannot afford the school fees, uniform and text book. It costs £70 = $130 to cover a whole years education. These gypsy people are descendants of the Romany Gypsies. But here in India They are Classed as the outcast and Untouchables by Hindu religion. They live in camps where there is no clean water, Little food and no Sanitation. They have no land, little possessions and live in make shift houses and tents made from sticks and plastic sheets. Each day they make one of bead necklace and only get around £0.15 or $0.30. this is not enough to feed their family well, and there is nothing left for education or medical care. They are chased from towns and even hospital. Jyotika can however go to school and have a great future. Our Partner organisation based in Kallakurachi India, is the only organisation working with these NARI _KAR_AVARS, except Our partner, THE INDIAN NEW LIFE MISSION. We run a Children Boarding home, where we take disadvantaged children with parents consent and Provide accommodation, Education, Food and clothing. They Children return to the camps during Holidays. Totem #1 is the first of a series of pieces that represent an animal attached to a human figure, like if they are part of the same body. They can also be animal totems, if you prefer. The Totems carry also a very simple concept: our deep attachment to Nature as one single thing. Mary is 12 years old and she cares for her younger brother. She never has gone to school like most in Tunga/Zuga village. I called this photograph “what If”. What if someone paid the £70 -$120. per year for her school fees, uniform and text books?. What if someone wanted to give Mary a future where she could learn to read, write, and what if Mary learned skills that would earn her money and she could help her younger brother also to go to school? / What if Mary had the change to be what she wants to be, a Nurse?
