  • Tiger Tiger, Tiger, burning bright / In the forests of the night; / Dappled light on furrowed brow, / What careless loss hath man wrought now? In what distant fields or woods / Has your kind been gone for good! / Oh lost hope is not our creed, / We used our greed to do this deed! Stripes of onyx on amber strides, / We raped your kind, you can not hide! / And when thy heart lay still and dry, / Perhaps by then we learn to cry! Bullets, traps, dogs, the like, / Chased you deep into that dark night. / At times you taunted from bamboo lairs, / Places so tight a man not dare! Your kind is leaving, / tis sad our loss! / We beat our chests, / death has no boss! Stars threw down their spears on you / And water’d heaven with their tears / You lay their, dying, filled with fear! Did he who made the Lamb make thee? / Another day you shall not see. Tiger, Tiger, burning bright, / In the forests, one last night: / What immoral hand or eye, / Took your fire and made you cry? Adapted and altered by Mundy Hackett, based upon the famous poem entitled ‘The Tyger” by Sir William Blake! Save the tiger, save the planet, save those things which we wantonly destroy through our greed and incessant pursuit for domination of the natural world. The planet is a living organism, the tiger is but one example of the fire beating in it’s heart, but with each tiger lost in the wild the fire burns a little less brightly. Don’t let the fire go out, save the tiger, save the world! / / / / Part of my line promoting awareness and raising funds for endangered species globally. This is also available as cards and prints. • *Graphite pencil on Bristol Board Paper ;) This is the first in my new series~ “Can I Live Here Too?” I have embarked on a journey to help the animals that have just as much of a right to live here as we do…..sad to say that baby seals like this are clubbed to death to be skinned, everyday at alarming numbers, these helpless innocent babies anywhere from 12 to 28 weeks are being murdered in terribly painful ways….I saw in a video called Earthlings, not only did they club the baby to death, they tossed its mangled body to the side where I watched the mother seal morning her baby, I felt her pain, you could see it in her eyes….she was so beside herself in the loss of her baby….I cant for the life of me understand this, I am crying at this very moment….its not fair…I cant sit here and not do anything any more…please help me teach people the importance of animals and their right to live….. / As with all in this series 50% of any and all proceeds go to the Defenders of Wildlife: in my attempt to help….please help open people’s eyes and show them how to love…. Another way to help and save, Wear your feelings for everyone to see with a T-shirt!

  • This is the third in my “Can I Live Here Too” series…a baby panda bear…These are such beautiful special beings…its not fair at all what is happening to them…It is estimated that there are somewhere around 700 and 1,000 giant pandas still alive in the wild. Because they rely on bamboo as their main food they will remain in danger unless their habitat is expanded. The differing varieties of bamboo go through periodic die-offs as part of their renewal cycle. Without the ability to move into new areas that have not been affected many Pandas will starve to death. When die-offs occur the bears that do try to find a new place to feed often run into farmers and poachers. / As with all in this series 50% of any and all proceeds go to the Defenders of Wildlife: in my attempt to help….please help open people’s eyes and show them how to love….

  • This is a collaborative transatlantic entry between myself and the incredibly talented and totally awesome billyboy in Belgium for RedBubbles Gaia – The Living Planet competition. Now, I’m not a religious person, but I wanted to illustrate by using billyboys Noah’s Ark image that if we dont start taking care of this planet we are living on I truly / believe we will be in for a disaster of biblical proportions. All that is beautiful and wondrous will simply disappear… like so many ephemeral bubbles. We are all interconnected, and we must find our harmony with Gaia, or risk losing it all. Many thanks to billyboy for sharing my vision, and giving so generously of his time, blood, tears and love to bring this vision into glorious life. Concept: Rhana / Background artwork: Billyboy / Art within the bubbles: Rhana / Bubble creation: Billyboy / Design: Rhana / Title Inspiration: Billyboy For those interested in buying the totally hawt tee of this image its now available over at billyboys place. Proceeds from sales of the tee go to the STV Foundation.

  • I tried to create a surreal picture depicting how all of us including animals etc inhabit in the same earth, the fish, dog, hamsters etc. All of us makes this planet alive, without each other we wont be able to exist, thus we must learn to protect and appreciate the beauty that this planet has given to us. God bless.

  • Being an inhabitant of this planet is the equal right of all living things….. It is our responsibility to honour their place here as much as our own. We should never seek “power” or “control over” anyone except ourselves. / What a privilege it is to walk amongst those who do not speak our language…... and to share this Earth with them. And so it is an honour to experience friendship with those who walk beside us in other form….. All profits raised from sales of this image will be sent to / Wildlife Appeal

  • Panda Stream – Animal kingdom natural realism – Oil canvas The Wu Shen Fairy Series is based on a famous Chinese legend about Wu Shan (Wu Mountain), located at the traditional eastern border of China’s Sichuan Provence on the Yangtze river. This area is popularly known today as the “Three Georges” and is the site of the world’s largest dam for flood control and power generation. As with many legends and fables a number of variations exist. Only a brief summary of the fairy story is described here. Since humans dwelled in China rivers and floods carved history into the mountains, shaped the lives of humans and affected the course of human events. Farmers need rivers to nourish their crops for bountiful yields but nature also wrecks havoc with floods. The struggle with the river that ancient Chinese faced continues in the modern era with the new Three Gorges Dam as the world’s largest construction project. The Chinese poet Lu You also wrote about this area and its fairy stories. / In this context, thousands of years ago the Queen of the West sent her beautiful young daughter Wao Ji and 11 hand maidens to watch over the Jade Pool. These 12 fairies are symbolized by the 12 peaks of the gorge. The lovely Wao Ji wandered and lived among the animals. Eventually she settled in the magnificent beauty of Wu Shan. She observed the suffering of humans caused by the river floods and took pity. Ultimately, she had a rendezvous with Prince Chu and gave him a book describing how to control the river and its floods. / There are many additional details to this epoch not retold here. You can search under “Three Gorges History”, “Wu Shan Mountain” or “Wu Shan Fairy” for the rest of the story. The paintings are the artist’s image of the beautiful fairy goddess and her surroundings. / In this oil painting the Panda has a reflective image in the quiet stream. As an endangered species Pandas must hope that humans also reflect on themselves and our earth.

  • A gentle piece by Giclee Artist Skye Ryan-Evans. This scene of a lone Polar Bear silently gliding through Arctic waters while an Aurora Borelis shimmers behind him, is serene and unforgettable! Designed as a poignant anti-global warming , anti-oil drilling and anti-hunting statement. 25% of proceeds from sales of this item go to support Defenders of Wildlife, in their valiant efforts to lobby for the proper protection of these magnificent creatures of the ice.

  • Sold – Medium Mounted Print to a Mystery Buyer, along with 10 cards, thank you! This animal lives at the Tennessee Safari Park in Alamo, TN American buffalo (technically bison) are normally brown in color. Rarely, white buffalo are born. White Buffalo are considered to be sacred signs in several Native American religions, and thus have great spiritual importance in those cultures and are visited for prayer and other religious ceremonies. The following statements are excerpts from “The White Buffalo: / A Living Prophecy in Western Pennsylvania”, by Melanie J. Martin. The Rest of the Story and Here “At the small Woodland Zoo in Farmington, PA, on November 12, 2006, a prophecy was born, a living piece of a legend central to many Native spiritualities. It took the form of a buffalo calf that emerged into the world completely white, a one-in-ten-million occurrence that becomes even more miraculous when considering the scarcity of buffalo today. The Woodland Zoo, like the several other places where white, non-albino buffalo have been born in recent years, became a site of pilgrimage for throngs of visitors. The white buffalo calf holds enormous sacredness to many Native American tribes, but many of us who are not from Native cultures have felt drawn into its aura as well. We go to look, to wonder, to pay respect, to find out if it just might have a message for us—and perhaps to marvel that the very animal our society has taken such great lengths to conquer has brought forth a message with the power to save our society from itself. In Lakota spirituality, our survival as a people depends on believing in and heeding the white buffalo’s sacred message, which urges us to live the understanding that all living beings are linked and interdependent. “It has come to speak to you…and it’s telling you something here…you have to listen,” says Lakota Sundance chief and medicine man David Swallow, Jr. “It’s not an Indian thing; it’s for humanity.” On April 14, 2007, Swallow spoke to a crowd of people at the Woodland Zoo, a surprisingly large crowd considering the out-of-the-way location and the cold, persistent rain. Many of us seemed to sense the urgency of Swallow’s message. He spoke of how the white buffalo has long been sacred to the Lakota and other Plains tribes such as the Kiowa, Apache, Cheyenne, Hadatsa, Pawnee, and other Siouxan tribes, whose existence depended on the herds of buffalo that darkened the land before the days of the transcontinental railroad. A white buffalo carries a message to the people to whom it appears, warning them that hard times, such as an epidemic of disease, will be arriving unless the people examine the way they’ve been living and learn to live in a way that is better for all. The tribes of the Great Plains have traditionally shared a profound bond with all of the buffalo they depended on for survival. Like their relationship with the rest of the Earth, this relationship merges what Westerners think of as separate “physical” and “spiritual” worlds into one. The English language affords us no adequate way to describe this holistic way of life; we can only strive to intuit such a way of being in the world. Buffalo were central to the lives of the Great Plains tribes, used for food, clothing, tools, and other purposes. Hunting, to these cultures, is never mere sport; it is done out of necessity and with the utmost respect and gratitude. “Hunting is a spiritual thing,” says Swallow. “You never go hunting and just mount the head on the wall…you use every part of it.” He adds that the Lakota have always held a ceremony the night before a hunt, “because nothing belongs to us; it all belongs to the Great Spirit…through ceremony, we must ask permission from this four-legged.” The following statements are excerpts from “White Buffalo Prophecy” by Chief Arvol Looking Horse, 19th Generation Keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe. Since 1994, these kinds of signs have been coming, but it seems that people do not listen or want to see anything important from the animal nation’s messages. This has a lot to do with faith. What was told is as follows: This is a very dangerous time we are in! The minds of the people on Unc’i Maka (Grandmother Earth) are choosing to focus on a new way of life that is hurting us all in the global community. This way of life chooses war, hurting one another physically and verbally, and continued desecration to Unc’i Maka in taking more then what we truly need in her resources. These decisions not only hurt our own People, but the animal nations are dying in large numbers to extinction by this new way of life we are accepting. Unc’i Maka is going to have a hard time to continue to bring food to all life. These decisions need to be changed very soon and are in each and every one of your hands more then ever. Respect to the spirit of life needs to be brought back; boundaries need to put back into place and faith needs to be present in everyone’s life once again. I found the story of the White Buffalo to be a worthy read. I found myself reading other stories about the history of the white buffalo and what it meant to my ancestors of long ago. What I found most interesting of all is the way this prophecy told by Chief Arvol Looking Horse, paralells to things the Holy Spirit of my religion has recently spoken to my heart. Life is precious, whether human or animal. We should respect life. While some animals are needed to sustain the lives of humans, we should respect them by only taking what we need. We should take care of our animals and treat them with respect. Also, we should treat human life with honor and respect from conception to the end of life. And, we should love and respect one another, helping one another rather than engaging in hate and violence. The world I have known seems to be crumbling around me. Financial ruin and despair, greed, hatred,, all the sin I see on t.v., internet, and all around me seems to me exceedingly grave. I think the Holy Scriptures can express it much better than I can, it comes down to this: Matthew 22:36-40 (New American Standard Bible) “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And He said to him, ” YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. “The second is like it, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.” And then there is the Golden Rule> Matthew 7:12 (New American Standard Bible) “In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NAS) “and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

  • Earth Watch tonight 8.30 – 9.30 Australia, turn off your lights for 1 hour :) / before photoshop colouring it was just a pencil sketch as above / / / Mother Nature a pencil drawing on paper / i’ve coloured this in photoshop this drawing came about while I was holidaying on an island off the Qld coast recently, I was there when the oil spill happened, and a cyclone threatened to disturb our lovely rest….but as it happened, we were not disturbed by either of these events, and were lucky enough to connect with dolphins each and every day, this is from my latest “Connection” series, it’s about our connection with creation and every living thing, especially the beautiful dolphins of Tangalooma.. I hand fed the dolphins and Tinkerbell, a mother dolphin gave me what i like to call 5 dolphin kisses to the hand. I also encountered the other dolphins called Echo, the 2 baby dolphins, one named Phoenix and it was a really special time for me. Dolphin facts I learned at Tangalooma: . Baby dolphins have hair and whiskers…they have a hairy growth on their fluke/tail and they have whiskers on their face, so that their mother knows when they are going to suckle…it tickles her and she can get into the right position . The pack of dolphins at Tangalooma have given many gifts of fish and / things like eels to their feeders and the staff their, which are in a glass display case with the various stories . The baby dolphins ‘play’ with puffer fish…they annoy the puffers til they PUFF and then toss them to and fro on the surface like they are ping pong balls . Dolphins chase their prey upside down . Many dolphins get entangled in fishing line and makes them unable to feed properly, as it gets around their fluke and around their mouths….they eventually die if they don’t receive intervention . The males get into packs and they fight for dominance, the stress of this shortens their lifespan, so the females actually live longer . A baby dolphin suckles for the first 18 months and does not eat anything while suckling…during that time the juvenile dolphin learns to hunt, they are not born with these skills, they are learned. . A baby dolphin suckles approximately every 10 minutes . Other dolphins in the pack protect the baby dolphins while the mother dolphin feeds, etc . Dolphins are mammals and share many similarities with humans…. / they can see well above and below the water :) . At Monkey Mia in Western Australia where they also feed wild dolphins, only the male dolphins come in to feed now, they have bullied the female dolphins so that they don’t come in to shore anymore….

  • We belong Together! I have been wanting to do a t-shirt with a “message” for some time and this is what I came up with. I know that another Eco shirt might be more of the same right now, but this is my first eco based design so I hope it is still enjoyable. I wanted it to feel like an animal kingdom chart with an array of different animals (with humans included) and have a written message that indicates that we are all meant to live together, harmoniously. The more that the human race grows, the more that we have to expand and the more that we expand, the more that we encroach on the territories of animals. I know that this is inevitable, but I think that we should pursue new ways to share our space with animals and harmonize instead of simply driving them out. / Also, the small writing below each animal is that animal’s Latin name. / Fine jersey cotton, tailored fit T-Shirt. 100% Sweatshop free.

  • Please read this. Job 16:18 If I should die, I beg the earth not to cover my cry for justice. Taken outside Tunga/Zuga village where we are running a help project, Alice was alone in a dry barren field. She is an orphan and was shivering with a fever. With little food and no medical care, her condition was severe. We did not know at the time she was an orphan until we took her with us to the village. In Ungwa/Fada Village the well collapsed in 2007. Now they drink river water, that causes many to suffer from Intestinal worm infection. This kills both Children and adults. There is little food as they have need of tools, seeds fertilizers to grow better quality food. / Alice like many children cry out for someone to love them enough to help them when they are sick, to mother them when they lost their mum, to cloth them and shelter them when they are frightened and lonely. The need a fathers strong arms and smile to comfort them. You can be this to Alice adn many like her. I have seen so many like Alice die in agony, and been unable to help because we had no money to buy medicines or care for them. I have dedicated the past 15 years of my life to helping children like Alice. The Philadelphia Mission Charity is set up for this very reason. / We are in need of your Prayers and support so we can continue and expand our mission to help many more Like Alice. • a fractal created in FraxPlorer was the beginning of this collage.. i added bits and pieces.. altered this and that using various programs such as ArtRage and PSPX plus a few filters. Taurus Taurus (♉) is the second astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation of Taurus. In western astrology, this sign is no longer aligned with the constellation as a result of the precession of the equinoxes. In astrology, Taurus is considered a “feminine”, negative (introvert) sign.[2] It is also considered an earth sign and one of the four fixed signs. Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus (which also rules Libra). Being the second sign of the zodiac, Taurus has been associated with the astrological second house. Individuals born when the Sun was in this sign are considered Taurus individuals. Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun is in Taurus roughly from April 21 to May 20. The Sanskrit name of Taurus in Hindu astrology is Vṛṣabha. .. from Wikipedia. For more info follow this Link
