  • Ready to Fly
    by ECGardner

    US$3.85–US$102.60

Often when I’m out with my camera I will just sit for a while and watch… Nature has some amazing things to teach us, if we are only willing to pay attention… As humans we often “over think” things; we try so hard to do something that we end up overanalyzing it and not doing it at all. I watched this ladybug for a bit as she climbed up this plant, probably looking for aphids or some other bug to eat, and when she got to the end of the stick, without hesitation she decided she was ready to fly and she did it (good thing I was right there or I would have totally missed the shot). Sometimes I think that her method is the best way to approach things… Decide you want to do something, and just do it. No overthinking or overanalyzing, no self-doubts or second guessing… Just open your wings and fly. Just my thoughts for the day. :) This shot was taken at a botanical garden in Gainesville, Florida. 100% of the profits from the sale of this print will be donated to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

  • Nature's Rainbow
    by ECGardner

    US$3.85–US$102.60

I have been wanting to do a follow-up to Colors of Nature, but I wasn’t sure how I wanted to present it. Since I have already done flora, I wanted to do something with fauna, and something unique… Then it struck me how amazingly colorful snakes can be, and how that is something most wouldn’t think to notice. So, I present to you these beautiful snakes, all of whom are wild and were captured, photographed, and released in and around north and central Florida. The colors here are completely natural; I’ve not altered them at all. The snakes are: corn snake (aka red rat snake, Elaphe guttata guttata), yellow rat snake (Elaphe obsoleta quadrivittata), rough green snake (Opheodrys aestivus aestivus), and bluestripe garter snake (same one as in Feeling Blue Thamnophis sirtalis similus). I only wish I had photos of orange and purple snakes to complete the spectrum. :P / . / This is currently not for sale as a laminated print because the border won’t print well with the text on the laminated prints, since RB adds their own border. If you would like to purchase a laminated print, please let me know and I will post a version without the text. :) / . / 100% of the profits from the sale of my work featuring reptiles will be donated to Wildlife Warriors Worldwide in honor of Steve Irwin who educated the world about these amazing creatures.

  • Sunday Afternoon
    by Lisa G. Putman

    US$4.99–US$133.00

Dreamy shot of a lazy leopard chilling on a Sunday afternoon. Submitted to the Sold! group. / Sold 1 Poster, Mystery Buyer Leopards are classified in the phylum Chordata, subphylum Vertebrata, class Mammalia, order Carnivora, family Felidae. The leopard is a large carnivore of the cat family, Panthera pardus, widely distributed in Africa and Asia. It is commonly yellow, buff, or gray, patterned with black spots and rings. The rings, unlike those of the New World jaguar, never have spots inside them. Black leopards are commonly called panthers, a name sometimes used for all leopards. They are not a distinct species but merely a color variant caused by melanism, or excessive pigmentation. Close inspection reveals the typical spotting, which is obscured by the darkness of the background. Leopards are somewhat smaller than lions and tigers; the largest males are about 7 ft (2.3 m) long, including the 3-ft (90-cm) tail. Leopards are solitary, largely nocturnal, and good climbers; they hunt both on the ground and in trees. They prey mostly on small animals such as monkeys, rodents, and birds. Leopards are found in much of Africa south of the Sahara and in parts of Asia from Israel to Korea and Indonesia. They are listed as threatened or endangered throughout their range, owing primarily to loss of their natural habitat and to illegal killing for Oriental folk medicine.
