  • OK my total ignorance on bugs showing here! I assume this is a cricket rather than a grasshopper, solely because I think crickets are brown and grasshoppers are green! But I’ll stand corrected! This was sitting on chair where my daughter does karate, I put him outside after he posed for me for a few minutes! I sharpened this up, solely to enhance his suit of armour, but of course this added noise.

  • A little dragonfly taken at the Fonts d’Algar, Costa Blanca, Spain I have reposted this as being black it showed little detail, and have tinkered with it as a psuedo HDR to show a little detail on the wings.

  • Title courteously by Robpixaday .... The little penguin and his friends were zooming around and around, with saddos like me trying to snap their picture! Edited from colour into infrared and then a dry brush effect added.

  • This giraffe was so friendly! His enclosure was lower than the road and he lent over the fence and licked my daughter! I was so impressed with his/her enclosure. There was shelter, trees, high hanging hay buckets, had company of another giraffe, zebras, gizelles and something else. For Spain it was a fab zoo.

  • This peacock wouldn’t stay still for a second! Here he had jumped up onto a duck enclosure.

  • Now doesn’t this bear look so cuddly! Shame he’d probably rip your head off! He had been asleep on his back all snuggled up, but when I passed him a little later, as I was watching him, he got and went for a little stroll. Brown bears are still found in the wild in some parts of Spain, taken at Mini Hollywood, Oasys, Tabernas, Almeria, Spain Nikon D40 55-200mm @ 200mm Unfortunately I still had to do alot of cropping!

  • I just fell in love with these cute meerkats, they are such fun little creatures, playing, running around, digging and surveying the world….......... This image was taken late afternoon in January as the sun was sinking lower in the sky. Tabernas, Almeria, Spain.

  • This bear was in an adjacent enclosure to my other shot… he too had just woken from a siesta!

  • All the large animals at this zoo were truely Spanish! Every single one of them took a siesta. This puma had just woken up! Nikon D40 55-200mm at 200mm, um can’t remember if this was shot on auto or A priority! Processed in PSP CS3.

  • Now this was the only one of the flock/stand that wasn’t asleep! Perhaps all the animals were taking sleeping tablets LOL!

  • Yes this was another one that had just woken up! Red Tiger, Tabernas, Almeria, Spain.

  • My little brown bear asleep, he really does look so cuddly! OK he’s not my bear but I just rather liked him and he is quite photogenic! Tabernas, Almeria, Spain Nikon D40 55-200mm lens at 200mm. Again I can’t remember whether it was taken on Auto or A priority. Processed in PSP CS3.

  • Just a camel’s nose! Nikon D40 55-200mm, probably taken in auto, but can’t remember! Processed in CS3.

  • Red tiger having a quick wash after his siesta! Taken at Oasys, Tabernas, Spain. Nikon D40 55-200mm at 200mm. Probably on auto. Processed in PSP CS3

  • After a little snooze, there is nothing like a little drink before a little wash! / / Red Tiger taken at Oasys, Tabernas, Almeria, Spain.

  • The Parque Reina Sofia at Guardamar, Costa Blanca, Spain has about 5 peacocks all vying for the peahens attention at the moment. MAP Nikon D40 18-55mm Started photography May 2008

  • I have tried to do another SC on this theme to enter into a challenge. So please do not feel obliged to comment as the butterfly is an old image! Nikon d40 Hand! HAND & PAINTBRUSH

  • Hannah has 2 new pets! This is Kiki the gerbil. Took me at least 1/2 hr to get them both out of their cage today! They are living in our old hamster’s cage, the problem is it has tubes etc and only one place to get them out! They just scurry around at a 100mph and are impossible to catch! Canon EOS 500D

  • This is Hannah’s other gerbil, Coco. Despite always being harder to catch, she was less manic to photograph! Never owned gerbils before, so just hoping they tame like hamsters and can be easily caught eventually! Just thought they would be more fun than a Hamster as they firstly live happily together and secondly are diurnal so a bit more fun! Canon EOS 500D

  • I thought I would have a play with Coco the gerbil! If anyone does wish to buy this card I have kept it in all it’s layers and can easily change the text to something personal, or just a different message! HAT / BOW

  • I made this for one of Hannah’s friends whose birthday it is today. Just another little play with Hannah’s gerbil Kiki.

  • OK so I am sad! Another edited creation of Kiki! Kiki wishes to give you these little gifts! Merry Christmas to all. Xmas Pressies / Hat

  • Well only in Kiki’s dreams! Canon EOS 500D Wonderful background by Moonchild
