A rare moment of stillness captured before Gandalf decided he was not in the mood for any more modelling.
The markings on this cat are incredible, her face is split right down the middle in almost a straight line. Pet Portrait Commissions welcome, please visit my website PencilPortraits.com.au / for more information.

Border Collies make the best retrievers!
“Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling, / By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore, / `Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou,’ I said, `art sure no craven. / Ghastly grim and ancient raven wandering from the nightly shore - / Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night’s Plutonian shore!’ / Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.’ “ Edgar Allan Poe / The Raven / 1845 Valley of the Giants, Walpole, Western Australia
High alert down at the horse beach.
This another one of the three ‘tame’ cheetahs. / Even though they were hand reared and walk around the house like large over-sized cats and play with the dog, there shouldn’t be any quick movements around the cats and always approach them front on. Avoid staring into their eyes and if you’ve got a bag then make sure there aren’t any straps dangling; they’re like big playful kitties; they just want to play! It was warm and I was quite comfortable wearing my flipflops/thongs/slippers around Africa. / However when visiting the cheetahs, you are warned not to wear your flip flops. They have been known to try and ‘catch’ the flip flops whilst they’re still on your feet! ....Apparently they’re not a bad shot! / I went barefoot instead.
He was just so friendly, and loved the attention. He stood there for me and lapped up the attention; a true poser! Taken in Wulgulmerang, Victoria, Australia. April 2009.
Taken in Wulgulmerang, Victoria, Australia. He noticed me at the fence and came as quick as he could for a pat and some grass (which I grabbed for him from the otherside of the fence). .. They do say…. The grass is always greener! April 2009
