Another shot of this baby Eagle Owl. Absolutely beautiful bird. Again, I have used the fractalius filter on this image. Hope you enjoy it! :) / /

A very friendly pink galah couldn’t get enough of the camera. It was even patient enough for me to change lenses to the macro lens and here is the result!

This is another view of the male smew that I photographd at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
Taken at Banham Zoo in Norfolk, UK. It is great to see these birds up close but I do feel for them being on a perch most of the day…

This was taken of the rare yellow eyed penguin, with its wings outstretched, on the Yellow Eyed Penguin Conservation Reserve. It is on the Otago Peninsula, New Zealand. It was taken in the wild with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera. I was so fortunate to sell another here on redbubble in the same week. I sold a small mounted print with a black border and artist’s details, to a complete stranger (in the USA?). Many thanks so much. It was such a pleasant surprise.
This Crane was raised from an egg by Ben Potterton of Blacksmith’s Cottage Nursery in Norfolk, U.K. / Ben is helping to preserve endangered species by raising them and then finding them a safe breeding environment in order to promote the breed. / I liked the ‘proud’ look of this Crane and the curious look in it’s eye.
Immortalized the proud fellow as he headed out of the coop before his harem of one.
Meet Chicken, the resident rooster at our farm! As you can see, he’s not quite ‘right in the head,’ but in more ways than one! He has been run over by the riding lawnmower way too many times. This can be attributed to the fact that everytime it gets fired up, he chases and attacks it! Quite the territorial bird, he is. Truly a sight to behold. Chicken thinks he runs the place, and struts about making this quite clear. He attacks his reflection in shiny vehicles, humps inanimate objects (sad but true), eats scrambled eggs, and sleeps on the bench on the porch, sometimes with his friend Charlie (one of many cats). He’s quite entertaining, to say the least. Never a dull moment at our farm! UPDATE ON CHICKEN / Well, I am (sort of) sad to report that Chicken has finally, uh, crowked. I suppose seven is old in chicken years! He will be long remembered at the farm.
I love the colour on this bird.Photo taken at Jurong Bird Park in Sinapore.
Hawk using telephone pole to spot prey.
In the short time I have been trying my hand at photography I have spent a LOT of time trying to catch a good bird shot (the lil devils won’t cooperate! LOL) This however, I am very proud of and feel my patience has paid off! I captured this Seagull on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, Canada heading towards Lunenburg. Thank you for looking and your interest! Darlene
