This is how my first serious painting looks like and I chose to paint an owl. That was like 6 years ago I think :D Very few had seen this. When I was painting this, I was thinking “If I were an owl, I would be able to hear the sweet whispers of lovers in the park.”...yep, in case you are wondering, those are sound waves, owls have such fantastic hearing that’s simply amazing!! I always treasure the beginner’s spirit and I kept reminding myself not to lose it….because once you become used to something, it loses that magic, It is now nicely framed and hanging in the most intimate part of my apartment. Animals live in a carefully reconstructed natural habitat according to vegetation, climate and elevation. Because of lack of space, a new, second site was opened in 1998 just outside of Emmen. my entry for the Social Conscience challenge attempts to highlight a few small issues that really bother me. these are poverty, greed, war, injustice, celebrity worship and the general apathy to the whole situation. I struggled to come up with a design strong enough to match it`s worldly theme, that would still look good on a shirt. I had fun with this one. enjoy.
