This series of photographs was taken in 2004. I happened to be down by the lake with an old friend when one of my neighbor’s dogs, Buddy, came dashing our way and headed straight for the water. There’s something nice about seeing dogs happy and carefree. Lelia Katherine Thomas / leliathomas@gmail.com OR Twitter @leliathomas / www.leliathomas.com —-—- Want a free, high quality copy of this? Meet Mo. He is a little squirrel who loves the quiet of the darkness. He loves making wishes and shooting them into the sky towards the twinkling stars! Will his wishes all come true? This is a print of an original illustration that I did with ink and digitally colored. Mo and Teeny are two little squirrels that live in my head….they had to come out eventually! Mo is available for limited prints and cards. Thanks for looking! ~Shelli xoxo / More of my work is available here: www.dazeychic.etsy.com

This is a young (pup) Eastern spotted skunk (Spilogale putoius). They are a fairly unknown species in the Eastern half of the United States. I study them and other carnivores in Missouri where I was getting my PHD. From 1940-1980 their population numbers throughout their range declined precipitously by 99% (conservative estimate). They are excellent tree climber like gray fox, they do have a smelly scent gland for defense like the better known striped skunk, but they only weight about 2-3 pounds so they are much smaller by half. Curious and highly intelligent, they are actually better mousers than cats. This was an abandoned one that we took in and raised for educational presentations. It’s affectionately called Charley “Squirt” Whiff!
A cute natural Black Squirrel, contrasted nicely in three inches of snow. I am honored that this photo was accepted as the avatar of the “Squirrels” group for the last week of March, 2008. Thanks Paul and group members! This design also available as T-shirts, also titled “Feeling Sqiurrely”. All artwork is © Rhonda L. Hall, All Rights Reserved. Standing like a sentinel on guard, this male Coyote in Rocky Mountain National Park glances over his shoulder as he hears something behind him. I managed to captured him when he was prowling around the area for prey, such a gorgeous animal, with the late day sun hitting him perfectly. His eyes are just stunning….. —-—-—-—-—-—-—— See more on my website jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. This shot of cute little fella was taken at a lookout area near Hoover Dam in Nevada USA.
I have a love of anime, manga and digital cgi japanamation. I have been influenced by series such as Robotech , Macross, Macross Plus, Appleseed and Cowboy Bebop, to name a few. I enjoy the guilty pleasure of seeing “Mecha” go forth into battle , transform and the various designs of them. This shirt of my creation , is a tribute to the love of Mecha and Animation. I hope you enjoy it. Thank you.
After a day spent on the road we were heading home when we came upon this doe lit up by the full moon. She stood there for a second and then she was gone.
Waiting for the sun to set I decided to photograph this herd of cattle. I felt like I had interrupted some secret meeting… it was hardly a welcoming look from them. Notice the oddly marked cow in the middle of the herd. I didn’t notice him at the time, only when I uploaded to my computer. No photoshopping. / Rural Bluegrass Region of Kentucky USA A closer crop /

Wild deer in Yosemite National Park – USA I spent ages with a group of these deer. Walked slowly to approach, after approx 15 mins i was surrounded by them, couldn’t shoot as they were too close, one just 10cm away, so we just hung out together until the cold drove me inside. Was a beautiful experience. They have the most gorgeous eyes :)) I loved every minute in Yosemite. This was taken at Buffalo Zoo, NY on 12/29/2008 with a Canon 50D camera. It’s two images combine together to make one because I didn’t like the sky on the orginal image. It’s a Bighorn Sheep. Another orginal image I didn’t care for the background. The orginal image was taken at Buffalo Zoo, NY on 12/29/2008 with a Canon 50D camera. The background image was taken in my backyard on 01/07/2009. It was edited in Photoshop Elements 6.0.
The Native American bald eagle is sacred and the Messengers of The Creator for many First People Nations. This painting is dedicated to all First People nations and tribes. Oil on 16×20 stretched canvas.
This was taken in Colorado at a training meet for young bull riders. There were several kids aged about 6 to 17 years old. It gave me a chance to try a different type of photography than I usually attempt, focusing on the fact paced action. Driving along highway 78 near Absarokee early one morning, I spotted this scene begging to be photographed. I adore Western Montana, it has so much going for it – Glacier National Park, beautiful mountains, forests and lakes, good arable land and prairies, lovely wild flowers, abundance of wildlife, and great people too ! / Sorry, I have no name for the wee lake ! Shot on my Canon EOS 40D, on a tripod, with polarising filter attached, f22, 1/6 sec, Auto WB, RAW file processed in Photoshop CS3, with just minor levels/curves adjustments. A little boost to the colours in LAB mode. /
Shot in the Lamar Valley, YELLOWSTONE National Park, USA. A lucky grab-shot. / I had spotted the Cottonwoods and wanted to capture the beautiful colours of Fall against the shadowy hill behind, then I saw the Male Bison emerge from the trees. He had a mission on his mind, a couple of females across the river, LOL !! (out of sight of this shot.) He was moving pretty quickly, and luckily I had my short telephoto lens already attached to the camera ! A magical moment and experience !! Shot on my Canon EOS 40D, set on Landscape mode, Aperture Priority, with polarising filter, hand-held, iso 200, f 6.7, 1/180 sec , underexposed by one stop because of the dark shadowy hill , Auto WB ( I mostly use this), lens was my Canon EF 75-300mm set at 200mm (don’t have this lens anymore) RAW file, processed in Adobe Camera Raw, then tweaked in PS CS3, with selective Levels/Curves, and selective colour adjustments. Captures of my favorite animals
Taken in Cape Lookout, Tillamook, Oregon, USA Nikon D50 / Nikkor 70-30 VR / ISO: 400
The ground was bone dry, and the Bison ( or Buffalo if you wish !) were rather skitterish, kicking up a whole lot of dust, so I took advantage of the moment to produce a more interesting image. The colour shot looked too plain, so in Adobe Photoshop CS3 I converted to b/w, applied a little Orton, dodged and burned here and there, and my final touch was to add some ‘noise’ to enhance the dust, which also looks like mist ! Shot on a Canon EOS 40D, f9.5, 1/350 sec, ( I needed a fast shutter speed and a fairly shallow depth of field ) iso 200, 28-300mm Tamron lens set at 109mm, hand held, RAW file converted in Adobe Camera Raw / CS3 as above. This started out as an LPS challenge image but I removed the contributed image and recreated a new painting from my camp-out trip to the Wild Animal Park. It was called Roar and Snore and we camped in the tents (see on far right) and them spent the next day visiting the park behind the scenes. It was wonderfully fun. Below are the start images I used to create this fantasy image. / _a rhonda original09© Thank you, / tree & cloud brushes / Secret Garden – Silent Wings
