  • Endangered Sea Turtles are disappearing due to marine pollution such as discarded fishing and trawling nets. In addition to such destruction of their breeding and feeding grounds they have to contend with predators, poachers and loss of their nest beaches where females need to return to their ‘birth’ beach to lay eggs. Green Turtles occur in seaweed-rich coral reefs and inshore seagrass pastures in tropical and subtropical areas of the Indo-Pacific region. This marine turtle is unusual in that the young are carnivorous and the adults are mainly vegetarian which makes its green meat less oily and is considered a delicacy. The Green Turtle is the most commercially valuable turtle because it is completely utilised, shell for jewellery, skin for leather and flesh for meat. / The ‘Fantasea Collection’ wildlife design portrays the beauty of the timid and shy Green Turtle while creating an awareness that every sea turtle is critically endangered.
