My dog in the garden
The river red gum is a beautiful example of eucalyptus. To survive to the driest periods this tree kills a part of itself, making part of its branches to die, so it reduces its needs of water. The earliest explorers in central Australia used to call this tree the “tree of the widows”, because of the dead branches falling on the head of the people that was resting under its shade… One of the thousand of dangers in the remotes parts of this amazing country!!!

This cracked me up… I was walking down a path down the river walk in Leavenworth Washington and there was this woman and her dog. The woman did not have a life vest on but you better bet that the dog had one on. I just found this to very funny.
A deep pool in the river, far from the madding crowd. A place for yabbies, kangaroos, echidnas, native rats, fish and waterbirds. Undisturbed. A place not far from where I live….A place I go to for tranquillity.
