There had been fires up there a year before. its why the trees look this way, I found it interesting and started to take the trees against that sky.

I think this is the first time I was able to get as close as I was to this beautiful fellow. I was so pleased when I uploaded it onto the computer and saw the results. Believe me this has had selective colouring on the shot it is just that the owl is mainly white. The original shot was taken in The Cornish Birds of Prey Centre & Animal Park in Cornwall. I have been playing about with it again; a crop here to focus tight on his beautiful eyes and selective colouring there and this is the result which I love. I hope you like it and thank you for viewing. Taken on January 11, 2009 with an Olympus FE-340 It was the first day of the year that the weather in London was beautiful so I spent the day outdoor walking through the parks, and the squirrels are very friendly. This particular shot was in Green Park. While I was trying to set-up my camera to take a photo, this little guy suddenly climbed up my leg! (I missed the opportunity to take its picture while it was there) I looked down at it, and it looks to the side as though saying “I didn’t do anything…” (see image in first comment), then it runs behind me and tries to climb up my knapsack; then runs in front me, spirals up the pole and pokes its head to the side going “Peek-a-boo!” After it climbed down I brought my hand out. It grabbed my finger for a little while, but took off before I could get a picture then :-( ... But atleast I captured the funny Peek-a-boo moment! The light and dark areas in the eye may look like the iris and the sclera of the eye, but that is actually caused by reflections; The dark bit at the bottom left corner of the eye is a reflection of myself with the camera:

As we drove out of our Lodge in Amboseli on the final morning of our stay , at sunrise, there was a herd of Buffalo heading for the waterhole, kicking up the ever present dust. Their hooves made a wonderful sound in the silence.The scene lasted only seconds, but will be forever imprinted on my mind. The eternal struggle for existence,of many animals, to reach water, without being attacked by a predator, crossed my mind as I frantically shot my image. / You snooze, you lose !! / Mount Kilimabjaro peers through the thick dust, barely discernable. Taken with a Canon 50D, Canon 100 – 400 L series lens @ 400mm, F5.6, shutter speed 1/160 second ISO500, edited in Photoshop Whilst in Kent on holiday we visited several wildlife reserves, this shot was taken at Howletts Wild animal park , they have the largest selection of captive gorillas in the world. This Silverback was in a large cage with several other gorillas. A silverback is an adult male gorilla, typically more than 12 years of age and named for the distinctive patch of silver hair on his back. A silverback gorilla has large canine teeth that come with maturity. Blackbacks are sexually mature males of up to 11 years of age. (Wikipedia) Please view large

Algonquin Park Ontario, CANADA / September 26th 2009 / Nikon D40, Nikkor VR 55-200mm lens We first came upon Roxy sitting in the middle of the road in front of the ranger station and entry gate to Algonquin Park, northeast side, on the way to Grand Lake. As soon as we parked, she approached us and alternately scampered about the parking lot. / She was so sweet and kept quickly coming close to me to inspect what I was doing as I madly tried to capture her image with the zoom lens I had on the camera. / I loved the gentle inquisitive look in her eyes. I really wanted to pet her but knew better, despite my compulsion to name this little red fox, she is a wild animal with very pointy little teeth.
