  • It’s good to know someone will be there to break your fall

  • Of the two albino squirrels that I shot this morning, one was still a little sleepy. I was trying to get a clear shot of his entire head, but I couldn’t get the angle needed. Still, that twig was gripped in the squirrel’s hind foot, so I guess it was a good trade-off. It was also a rare treat to catch this little critter sleeping. The more that I look at this picture, the more that I love it. I can’t look at it now without smiling. I also now tend to reflect upon the helplessness of nature as man continues to invade their environment. How many animals will lose their homes to man’s quest for more profit today, tomorrow, the years ahead?

  • On DeviantART / Featured on the Homepage 15th April 2009! Firebirds. A fierce, brief indulgence, an inspired glory of exhultation. And then freedom and rising renewed to return to other things. And is the phoenix flying over the sunset, or is it setting a trail of fire and destruction…? Passing by in endless travels, rising newborn from a burning nest, or coming in to land and rest…? How many feathers falling…? ArtRage 2.5 and graphics tablet

  • This is by far, at least as people tell me the best Donkey shot they’ve ever seen. :-). Taken in Stavica village in Macedonia

  • This baby ground squirrel was one of hundreds that were stalking tourists at the zoo, looking for food. These squirrels are native to that area and are not zoo animals. This is a golden mantled ground squirrel. A thunderstorm passed over and rained for a bit. RaindropsKeepFallingOnMyHead /

  • Artists Note: Horses hold such a special place in my heart. They were some of my closest childhood friends. I feel comfort within memories of their warm breath, fuzzy muzzles, smells of earth and oats, welcoming neighs, and early morning rides. May this be a tribute to those old equine friends who brought me such joy.
