Sorry to all those who don’t like “pets and babies” photos… ;) This is my kitty trying to catch a fly on the window last night… The sun was coming down into our living room which gave that nice glow on one side of his face. I was originally going to make it all black & white but I just couldn’t bring myself to leave his gorgeous blue eye out! This piece was recently part of an exhibition. My cat, Muffin found a new grey cat in the neighbourhood and is very fond of it. They now hang out together quite a bit. Close up shot of one of our many “barn kitties”. Dubbed that since we have a barn on the acreage and they sleep in it in the winter. :) They’re technically not our cats, since the mother was dumped out here a few years ago and the father is a stray from who knows where. This little guy is part of their second litter.

Summer Breeze a beautiful poem by the same title by a dear friend of mine Anne Van Alkemade / Inspired by the song Summer Breeze / by Seals and Croft Also inspired by myself and my experience of having bugs and insects come to try and take up residence in my ears… scrabbling around in there, getting all comfy…while I’m going crazy…click beetles, houseflies and spiders so far have all tried this… lol This is a girl who has an affinity with nature, and as the summer breezes begin to blow here in Australia…....the animals are drawn to live in her hair thinking that it must be branches of a tree… yes, my hair’s that dry… :) I thought it a fitting one for summer, hope you like her… Pencil drawing took me about 3 hours / Digital colouring – 10 hours / Total time 13 hours
