Photographic based digital montage, 2007 (no 2 from series of 3 re-worked). Shot two seperate models & combined them. Draw in & enhanced part of the headpeice, body, dress, added fringe to face, made the features more angular, blew up lips, created cheekbones, reworked branches, filtered wallpaper effects, extended chandelier, added lacework/flower elements, desaturated & added a sepia tone. Approximately 50 Photoshop layers.

Retouched face, hair & recreated arched eyebrows for further definition – left eye was opened up to match right eye. Ingrid added b/w desaturated tone, painted lips, corset bodice lace & sheet in red tone. Original shot below.

Retouched/airbrushed face/body, emphasised eyes, arched eyebrows, closed lips & enlarged them, minimised jawline, lengthened body/legs, re-worked hair/background elements, changed overall body perspective & added a magenta selective colour layer adjustment.

I told Ange I would make her this, I’m afraid I only put about 3 minutes into it because I’m having my face tattooed, so it’s a bit shit, but if you can be bothered to read all the way through this it will actually make sense. It’s got some cunning distorted colouring and shading going on that will look nice when stretched over a bump. Possibly. I have narrowed my market down to Ange, and any monogamous, married, pregnant women. Can I just say congratulations to Ange for baby making skills.

costume pearls, cut out print of drawing, print, wrapped and archival glued – on 1” thick plywood Last year I participated in a local benefit exhibition where the artists are given 12×12” blank plywood boards and we can embellish them as we desire. I wrapped a portion of one of my prints of my drawing Autumn’s Child/Mon Ange on the board, cut out another one of it to create the “mask” of her – and added fake pearls to looks as if the drawing was popping out of itself and to tie all the elements together. (I was so lucky to go to my magic drawer and discover this long strand in there that were the exact diameter of the drawing’s. They are costume and come from sewing items that were my Grandmother Alvina’s.)
