  • Country Field A Unicorns Gift – By My Good Friend Roger Sampson , Check out his work if you can As a new day lay forging and camera in hand / She found herself seeking about once again / In search of green fields, wide reaching trees / Tumbling water, cascading gently to please / Misty aired meadows, clouds kissing blue sky / Colour hues dancing in each scene passed by / She walks sylvan paths hoping for rapture / Looking for splendor her eyes there to capture Along a path she spied, just off to the side / Another small way as if trying to hide / Something was calling, ‘to me, this way take’ / She felt its promise, so soothing it spake / Following its windings past shadows of trees / A whisper heard passing on the Autumn breeze / Stepping from wooded edge her heart was amazed / A sight never witnessed, in awe she just gazed A lovely green field now holding her view / On it soft dusting’s small red leaves wind blew / To its left the forest, curving miles it seemed / Beauty like this, only wondered and dreamed / The sun shown more softer in sky where it’s kept / So magical this place, she sighed and she wept / Then suddenly a movement from behind an oak / A thought she heard, but no voice heard spoke She crouched in silence, her heart quickly danced / For out from the forest a unicorn pranced / Snow white and regal with long flowing mane / He stopped in his trot to view his domain / He studied and looked, then glanced her way / as if to say, enjoy, it’s your place for the day / She reached for her camera but then off he flew / No one else would see now, of that which she knew She walked in the field saddened of what lost / She sat and pondered, her camera she tossed / ‘Was the unicorns gift’, she felt so ashamed / Then a calming indwelled her, minds eye it framed / Looking once more at this magical place / Brought sudden peace, a warmth, a smiling face / ‘It was his kingdom given to capture this day / Not him the subject, of my camera’s play’

  • Still Waters / Antique Effect / Taken at Godmanchester in Cambridgeshire, i dont know why but i just love this little boat… /

  • This image was taken the same day as ‘The Old Fen Tree’ when these intense storm clouds added atmosphere to the flat desolate fields with their discarded barns.

  • Location 52, 10’03.96” N 1, 36’35.00” E This image was taken smack bang in the middle between Thorpeness and Aldeburgh, Suffolk, United Kingom. This has to be my favorite spot close to home for taking sunrises. Best at Low tide the textures of sun, sand, pebbles, clouds and water makes for some excitting photography. Feel free to visit and comment on the rest of my gallery. Thank you.

  • The lake on the grounds of the University of East Anglia, Norwich, U.K. on a foggy winter’s day. Taken with a Canon EOS 450D. 27 mm, F9, 1/4000s, ISO 200

  • Mersea Island, the most Easterly populated island in the UK, may not be renowned as a photogenic location, but, standing here at East Mersea, with the gently flowing seawater lapping against the tops of the wellies, with the line of posts so obligingly composed, and with the glorious colours spreading across the late afternoon sky, it was possible for a moment or two to believe that this was the most beautiful place on Earth. Canon EOS 5D and EF 16-35mm lens. Exposure of 30 seconds at f/13.

  • The National Trust-owned Horsey Windpump overlooks Horsey Mere, an internationally renowned site of special scientific interest. The Mere (from the Dutch word meaning “lake”) is an important site not only for wintering wild fowl but also as the home to a colony of natterjack toads. Canon EOS 20D; EFS 17-85mm lens Exposure of 1/50 second at f/18.

  • Herringfleet Mill can be found where you might least expect to find it – about twenty yards on the Suffolk side of the Norfolk/Suffolk border. Given Norfolk’s monopoly on spectacular, well-preserved mills, it seems only fair that neighbouring Suffolk should have a few of its own…although it should be noted that even this mill is officially in the Norfolk Broads. This photograph was taken on an extremely February day. A 13 seconds’ exposure captured the movement of the clouds as they raced across the East Anglian sky. Canon EOS 5D and EF 16-35mm lens. Exposure of 13 seconds at f/22.

  • Slaughden lies on the Suffolk coast in East Anglia, England. Canon EOS 5D and EF 16-35mm lens. Exposure of 16 seconds at f/10.

  • www.flindtphotography.com The quaintly named Strumpshaw Fen is a beautiful RSPB site at which can be seen kingfishers, marsh harriers and (if you’re very lucky) the highly elusive bittern. Another star attraction at Strumpshaw Fen is the swallow butterfly. On this visit we did not see a bittern or a kingfisher; and, given the time of year, we were not surprised to find that the swallowtail butterfly was nowhere to be seen. But then, who needs elusive butterflies or birds when you find yourself presented with a dilapidated, water-filled rowing boat and such a spectacular sunset as this? Canon EOS 5D and EF 16-35mm lens. Exposure of 1/5 second at f/14.
