  • Brad and Angelina
    by abfabphoto

    US$22.80–US$121.60

Brad and Angelina were by far the biggest actors at the awards. They arrived last and the red carpet was cleared out for them. They did several laps around the red carpet, including 2 laps for the bleachers…. They did own this red carpet, without a doubt….. From The 15th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards 1.25.08 in Los Angeles, CA @ the Shrine Exposition Center. Canon 40D 28-105 Lens. More to come!! :)

  • 2nd portrate of angelina jolie. / acrylic on 9.5×12.5 canvas paper

  • This is a female red bubbler who let me paint from her beautiful self portrait photo. (Thank you, Angel!) It is a watercolor.

  • I finally had some time to draw again, so I decided to do a sketch of Angelina Jolie. She is one of my favorite subjects to draw; this is probably my 10th drawing of her :) I am really annoyed that it is impossible to capture pencil drawings on photographs (or at least impossible for me). The photos come out bad whether I take a picture with a camera or scan them. / The drawing in real life has a lot more shades and values, and darks are darker, etc… Work in progress /

  • Have you ever longed to find a family willing to adopt you? Well have I got just the family for you! Brad & Angelina Jolie-Pitt are looking for child applicants right now and I’m sure, based upon their considerable lack of prejudice or concern at being considered “different”, it won’t matter one bit if you’re over 50! We’re all still kids at thirty, forty, fifty or sixty, right? (I know I am!) So apply right now by purchasing this cool t-shirt. / 50% of all proceeds will go to a respectable Hurricane Katrina Charity that both Brad and Angie support, to help the children of New Orleans. / “They have been using their star power to help focus attention on The Children’s Health Fund which helps more than 46,000 children still displaced 2 1/2 years after hurricanes Katrina and Rita destroyed their homes.” You can find the CHF link here: http://www.childrenshealthfund.org/ / Thank you for helping me to help them!

  • ANGELINA JOLIE-GYPSY
    by OTIS PORRITT

Pop Art is a visual art movement that emerged in the mid 1950s in Britain and in parallel in the late 1950s in the United States. Pop Art challenged tradition by asserting that an artist’s use of the mass produced visual commodities of popular culture is contiguous with the perspective of Fine Art since Pop removes the material from its context and isolates the object, or combines it with other objects, for contemplation. The concept of Pop Art refers not as much to the art itself as to the attitudes that led to it.

  • My own nouveau style of poster as a composite. / The starting point was an original oil pastel drawing commenting on magazine women. Somehow it reminded me of Angelina Jolie, not just a glossy image. A woman right there making people think about refugees and other events, not just the usual on beauty secrets. Hopefully women’s magazines will change their frontline stories so women can speak in different voice about reality. There are fires and no water on hand to fight them, a story from yesterday. People have lost their homes and temperatures have never been so high since records began. Four days of over 40 degreee heat. It is so hot train tracks are buckling and public transport systems are in chaos. / / The art influences are many and make up a pastiche of Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Pop Art; all reflective of a life style and culture from respective eras. Posters in particular mark the growth of a new attention to design and graphic detail. / Today with digital imaging these bold and essentially decorative periods have been revived in various forms. The fonts of Art Nouveau, the Pop Art benda dots of Lichtenstein, the celebrity portraits of Andy Warhol, the abstract simplicity, posterization and text across the page of bold Art Deco, and, all together in a contemporary context with the passion and heart of a Remodernist, not by accident but by intent! Words that may at first appear light and playful but which are serious beyond ‘form following function’. In a way the employment of these earlier styles in whatever combination is Retro, because they are all old styles with futuristic features promoting design strength, ideas and evolving visual experiment. / The tools at the hand to morph styles in Photoshop are amazing. I hope the digitization of an image does not disqualify me as a traditional fine artist style painter!
