The phrase refers to the idea that a butterfly’s wings might create tiny changes in the atmosphere that ultimately cause a tornado to appear (or prevent a tornado from appearing). The flapping wing represents a small change in the initial condition of the system, which causes a chain of events leading to large-scale phenomena. Had the butterfly not flapped its wings, the trajectory of the system might have been vastly different.

I walked down to the garden and found an angel entangled in the trees. It looked like it had been caught, but sat plainly waiting. If I wait long enough I will escape was all it said. Thankyou to my model, Jo and to my helpful assistant Jessica Back Alley Atelier The Ground Angel Series / / / /

Converted to HDR and post processed by fellow Bubbler Andy Mueller. Thanks Andy! Check out Andy’s work here I am overwhelmed by the response to this shot. To the point of unable to reply a thank you individually. I will check out your work and leave a comment there:) Thank you ALL for your kind comments:)...and taking the time to scroll down to add them. Much appreciated. I wonder if there’s a Heaven / Do the beautiful winged angels fly / Above the woods and sunlit gardens / Of their Utopia in the sky And sing with the larks in the morning / Their carols of love and of joy / Long years ago I dreamt such things of great beauty / when I was an innocent boy Back then I was nearer to Heaven / Far nearer than I am today / Since I have lost the innocence of childhood / Heaven from me seems much further away I wonder if there is a Heaven / Do birds sing on the blossoming trees / And do the rivers from their homes in the mountains / Sing their way to the Heavenly seas. crouching model by lamanouche.
This is one of my very first sunset shots. The weather has been really nice and has made some very lovely sunsets. I happen to live on a hill which overlooks the San Gabriel Valley and this view is taken just to the south of my house. Downtown LA would be towards the right, facing this image. The sun lit up the sky and I pulled out my tripod quickly and tried to figure out the exposure. I took about 8 photos and this one came out the best. This was taken inside my bedroom. I have a balcony outside my room, but I thought taking it inside the room would be more cool hehe :) This was taken with a Canon Elan, 100mm lens, 35mm film, and shot at f4, 38 secs. taking into account reciprocity failure from the film.

The butterfly and birds were taken from my painting “Thoughts and Things” and the white flower is an old plastic earring….the teapot was given to me by my father who knows I collect tiny silver things like this…..from an op shop somewhere, thank you dad! The table is a cork! Once the Chunkies are created and photographed, I usually dismantle them to be used in the creation of more chunkies, so I am recycling the plasticine. These Chunkies have been very therapeutic to create over the holidays, whilst taking a break from red bubble and having my family around. I have many more to come, and although I won’t be on RB as much, I hope to also be doing some serious painting this year…so i look forward 2009 with much anticipation …

Most times the water is ver near the limbs as he is not quite tall enough to clear the water line most days. I have named him my Little Warrior… Im gonna keep my eye on him:)
Playing with another mandala, in between working/publishing a JOURNAL manuscript, I was torn for naming and lacking for a story to accompany… / Low and behold, my sister Sally Omar posted an amazing writing called Dancing Rainbows, which in words and feelings matched it to a tee. So without further ado… I danced with a rainbow / and it danced with me / I realized what love was / and I was finally free a breeze joined us / the birds sang their song / I realized what grace was / nothing was wrong the angels were humming / the doves took flight / my life flashed before me / I didn’t sleep that night I thought of the trials / the tribulations I’ve seen / and then there was the beauty / mixed in between a heart is a heart / meant to understand / a soul is a soul / please hold my hand travel through beauty / turn your head from hate / we are the masters / of our own fate.
