  • A flower is always most beautiful when it finally blooms. A little angelic surprise rests in this flower.

  • The subtitle is “Angels Protect Me on My Journey”, a prayer on waking, on getting out on the right side of bed, on hitting the road, on thinking a new thought. Nice supersized. Oil on canvasboard. Actually a very small painting, and this is a detail which has a lot of nice drama going on in it. The color from the original is slightly altered, but I liked the terra cotta – green kind of wash I got by fooling with it in post op, or whatever you brilliant photographers on RB call that.

  • “Where There is Light, There Must Also Be Darkness”, “Every man has a good and bad angel attending on him, all his life long.” – Robert Burton (“Anatomy of Melancholy”) “Man is his own star, and the soul that can, render an honest and a perfect man,Commands all light, all influence, all fate: nothing to him falls early or too late. Our acts are angels are, for good or ill: our fatal shadows that walk by us still.” – John Fletcher (“Upon An Honest Man’s Fortune”) “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” – Bible: 2 Corinthians (11:13-15)

  • Imagine all the people living life in peace. Imagine a world without terrorism. I created this as: A tribute to my hero, John Lennon. A tribute to all those lives lost and affected by 9/11. And a tribute to the most exciting city in the world, New York! .

  • This is my little angel statue which survived massive trees falling all around it during Hurricane Gustav. After the storm, when the tree surgeons came to remove the debris that was everywhere, I forgot to tell them that a little angel was under three of the many splintered trees in my yard and that the angel should be moved to safety before they downed the broken oaks. As the giants came crashing to the ground, I remembered and cringed. Now, she’s crushed, I knew. But I was wrong. After the piles of wood were moved away, there was the statue, still intact! It had made it through two calamities! Today, it is a symbol to me of survival, a symbol that miracles do happen. May miracles abound this Christmas and in the New Year. Blessings to all!

  • I will not wish thee riches nor the glow of greatness, but that wherever thou go some weary heart shall gladden at thy smile, / or shadowed life knows sunshine for a while. And so thy path shall be a track of light, like angels’ / footsteps passing through the night. Inscription from a church in England / All profit goes to Feed The Children

  • Written by ~ Charles Dickens: And Angel Voices Say… The pure, the bright, the beautiful / That stirred our hearts in youth; / The impulses to wordless prayers, / The streams of love and truth; / The longing after something lost, / The spirit’s yearning cry; / The striving after better hopes… / These things can never die. The timid hand stretched forth to aid / A brother in his need; / A kindly word in grief’s dark hour / That proves a friend indeed; / The plea for mercy softly breathed / When justice threatens high; / The sorrow of a contrite heart… / These things shall never die. Let nothing pass, for every hand / Must find some work to do; / Lose not a chance to waken love; / Be firm and just and true; / So shall a light that cannot fade / Beam on thee from on high, / And angel voices say to thee… / “These things shall never die.” / All profit goes to Feed The Children As of November 29, 2009 ~ 995 views.

  • Each day brings with it the miracle of a new / beginning. Many of the moments ahead will / be marvelously disguised as ordinary days, / but each one of us has the chance to make / something extraordinary out of them. Remember that there is an enduring worth / to every positive step you take, that the good / decisions you make will come back to bless / you, and that your angels will make sure that / any clouds really do have a silver lining. • It’s never enough to seek God in prayer / With no thoughts of others who are lost in despair. / So teach us, dear God, that the power of prayer / Is made stronger by placing the world in your care. Written by ~ Helen Steiner Rice /

  • On the wings of loss and pain, / The peace we often sought in vain / Will come to us with sweet surprise, / For God is merciful and wise….. / And through dark hours of tribulation / God gives us time for meditation, / And nothing can be counted loss / Which teaches us to bear our cross. / Written by Helen Steiner Rice As of December 12, 2009 ~ 575 Views / Top Ten Winner ~ The 500 to 5000 Views Group /

  • I cannot dwell apart from You / You would not ask or want me to, / For you have room within your heart / To make each child of Yours a part / of You and all Your love and care / If we but come to you in prayer. • And the angel said to them, “Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which will come to all the people; for to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a babe wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased!” / Luke2:10-14 Photograph of a relief sculpture (taken by my) with text and enhancements added in software programs. • This is one of my favorite songs and so I wanted to share it with you. I Hope You Dance I hope you never lose your sense of wonder / You get your fill to eat / But always keep that hunger / May you never take one single breath for granted / God forbid love ever leave you empty handed / I hope you still feel small / When you stand by the ocean / Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens / Promise me you’ll give faith a fighting chance And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance / I hope you dance / I hope you dance I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance / Never settle for the path of least resistance / Living might mean taking chances / But they’re worth taking / Lovin’ might be a mistake / But it’s worth making / Don’t let some hell bent heart / Leave you bitter / When you come close to selling out / Reconsider / Give the heavens above / More than just a passing glance And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance / I hope you dance. Title: Lee Ann Womack – I Hope You Dance / Artist: Lee Ann Womack Lyrics /
