This is my first encounter with a doe at the first sign of spring, after a long winter and she is ready to be air “born”. :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Algonquin Park
The little calf was very proud of her long eye lashes so she posed to get their picture taken. :)
The little calf knew how cute she was so she stayed still to pose for her photo.
River was a bit scared of cows as she is more used to deer, foxes, coyotes and other wild animals so she did her “hunter pose” and the mother-cow thought that was a gesture befitting her, so she did a “River imitation”. :)
The cow was ever so patient with my scared dog River, who first had her “hunter stance” (which the cow imitated), then put herself down on her back to show submission to the HUGE being compared to herself and eventually she settled in staying “down” while the cow faced her and waited, waited, and then waited some more, finally River got up and followed her in some “grass eating”, becoming a “cow-dog”, just like last summer, when she became a deer fawn, except the event of her identifying with fawns was a lot less “dramatic” and fearful for her. :)
I just realized how humongous the cows must look like to River! :) The little baby was about 4 times her size and the big ones, well, as you can see…. :)
Our young friend the fawn came out of the shadow of the forest to say “hi” to us (my dog River and me)! Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Algonquin Park
My friend is now “at one” with grass. :) She looks very pretty in the setting sun light.
River was playing with the fawn and I was taking pictures of them. This little young calf suddenly got up from his resting spot of “sun-warmed grass” and came standing right in front of me, as if to say, “Just because I’m NOT a fawn, it doesn’t mean that I’m not ‘camera worthy’!” And “worthy” she is! :)

Beautiful October fall garden in Maryland
I believe I have an angel watching over me. I feel your presence all around me, guiding me in my every day life. / My sister had this beautiful sleeping angel as a door stop, I just thought it was begging to be photgraphed. I used my Kodak Z8160 camera set on the general picture taking setting. I have used a skyscape shot taken last week, I thought the cloud had formed an unusual funnel, perfect for my angel to lean on. I layered the skyscape and cut a hole in it so that the angel could slip between the clouds, then added text and some special effects in photoshop. The blurr on the top half is deliberate and has been rubbed away from the bottom half to show the original colour better. thanks for visiting, cheers- Valerie xx
