He was so shy and kept flying across the lake. They were here at the city park during fall migration. They are not tame but truly wild ducks taking a quick break before traveling again. I was amazed to see them at the city lake were people walk all the time because of the fact they normally do not like to be near people. The only other times I have seen them is in more secluded areas and they always flew away before I was even close. I sat very still for over two hours and finally this wood duck drake swam close enough for me to get a great shot of him. I am so thankful for that wonderful day. / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / Let’s help keep our waterways clean and protected. At the Phillipsburg, Kansas 2007 Rodeo. Wish I had a larger file of it. I didn’t have a computer at the time and the file was made smaller to not take up too much space on my dad’s palm pilot. I should of have him save it to a cd but I don’t think he could of from work.

Oh, how silly horses can be. They have hay and a barn but they choose to be out in the snow. I love the snow flying in this shot. It was cold but worth it I think.

It snowed overnight and was still snowing a little bit this morning when I went out to take a few photos. Polish didn’t want anything to do with the snow. I picked him up and carried him outside to show him something he had never seen before, snow. I took a few photos of him and then carried him back to his warm and comfy barn. Here he is sitting on my one arm while I held the camera in the other hand and took this photo as the snow was falling.
