Photograph of a little angel, holding a bird
For Daniel…
Cathcart cemetery, Glasgow
One of the photos I took at the cemetary, just loved how this angel was hidden behind a tree.
My son used go to swimming lessons every Wednesday evening . I occasionally drove him there when my wife could not. The first time I drove him, I noticed a cemetery near Wicklow Town, where the swimming pool was. A few Wednesdays later I ventured in with my Canon. It was my first visit to a cemetery with a camera. / I was almost instantly drawn to one gravestone in particular, of a cross with an angel, unlike any I have seen before or since. I had this strange feeling that I had seen it before, or maybe that it had been waiting for me a long time to find it. It’s sad & sublime expression moved me, against all rational sense. I kept going back maybe one Wednesday every month for a few minutes or so & each time I was sure that was it, that I couldn’t possibly get any more from it, that I’d used up all the angels angles, the project was now complete…until the next time. This gravestone depicts, to the best of my knowledge, the angel called Michael… This Angel looks over the grave of one Jane Nolan, of Wicklow Town, who died on January 4th 1915…in who’s memory this image is dedicated. May she rest in Peace. Michael (Hebrew מיכאל: Micha’el or Mîkhā’ēl; Greek Μιχαήλ; Latin Michael or Míchaël) is an archangel
This is a detail of the headstone this beautiful Angel’s statue kneels on, in Mount Jerome Cemetery, Dublin. It was only later that I noticed I had taken this photo exactly 100 years – to the day, after Grace died…purely by coincidence. Strange, but true… see the photo I took of engraving beneath the angel opposite once I realised the coincidence.
“And an Angel came to earth as the earth was dark and the people uncertain. The Angel shed lightning from her soul towards the people and one came forth and asked the Angel “Why do you not pour your light into me?” The Angel responded “You are already saved!” The one then realised that she had already received the light of God and this had also awakened her reason for living. Her realisation was that she had the gift of knowing what each Angel of the Apocalypse would bring and could share with the people of the earth to help awaken them so they may be saved….. And then another Angel of another form appeared on the earth….....”

Angel of death as a semi nude woman
One day I went to a cemetery to catch some inspiration, and I found this tombstone standing off by itself in a little grove of trees. It was so beautiful and peaceful, just like I imagine death to be. Her eyes are downcast in sorrow, yet the tree leaves flourish upward, even in the winter, giving the angel a sort of natural halo. Done in pencil.
Ok ladies and gents i thought that for a change i would stop throwing out so much ramdon crap and actually make an effort in one of my shirts. / and well this is it so if you come across it please feel free to leave a comment and give me some feed back

Turkey Vultures are a common sight during the summer here. Though not the prettiest bird, they are fun to photograph. They are easy yet challenging models.

I think the Angel of Death would be a compassionate woman and she’d have to be young (and strong) to be able to carry me off! ;0)
