Really an architectural shot of Atoche Train Station in Madrid but there was this guy sort of nicely positioned, with of all things a halo. Who knows maybe he was an angel or whatever.

A painting of an angel on the wall at an abandoned mental asylum was perfectly placed to have a beam of light passing across it from a nearby window, giving it somewhat of a poetic feeling.

There are times when Angels assume human form--this not only throws off people-but it can confuse the demons as well. I’ll bet he’s wonderin’-is that a person up there-or-is that an Angelic being—with his wings hidden behind the corner of that brick archway? Ya see not all Angels have that sweet white-winged fluffy look--some of us are a bit more gnarly-and dig leather—and ride Harleys when we’re just “blending in”. *PS—-this is a shot I took of my son Matthew while we were chillin’ at Chickasaw State Park 6 miles from my home. I only work from my own photos and the wings and demon are hand drawn in Photoshop.

photoshop manipulation. Made for the Texture-challenge in the Fine Art Composites group. I used three of the textures; the raindrops to lighten and give some texture to the sky, the two wall-photos were distorted in several layers to make up the rock, the plasterwall was also set as an overlay with high transparency over and around the angel for a grungier look to match the background, and another layer of the same texture was transformed to fit over the whole sky. For the sky I also used 2 cloud-textures and a moon from CG-textures (free at cgtextures.com) angel- model and photo; me, the angel is composed of many separate layers of photos, and includes some digital painting, I made this angel last year and have used it previously in Reflections / the wings (from a dead bird found on the side of the road!), the floating object (a dead leaf actually) and the skull-like piece of drift-wood are all my photos

ANGEL OF THE BULERS / By: Dale Crum This is a photo of my Original Acrylic Painting 48 inches by 36 inches on canvas. The proud owner Seth Chandler has this original proudly on display in his corporate office. In 1998 I was in North Eastern Scotland standing in this very spot called the Bulers of Buchan. My friend told me a tale of such sadness that I was compelled to paint this piece as soon as I arrived back home to my studio in Atlanta. / / A local school teacher had become so overwhelmed by life that her broken heart brought her to this precipice… overlooking the emerald sea below. In the midnight foggy cold winds of despair she stood there all alone… scanning her ripping soul for a reason… a reason not to jump. She found none. As I stepped over to look down… I saw upon the ground… a week-old wilted bouquet of flowers… left at the very spot where she gave up all hope. I visualized this Angel bringing those flowers and lovingly placing them there; but all-the-while pondering in her heart… why? Why there was no hope… what has happened to the local people? Why can’t they care enough to reach inside… and take hold of the rips… before they reach this bitter end? / Why?
