This shot was taken in Copacabana in 2006, a little town in the north of Bolivia, situated on the bank of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world at 3800 mts. / There was a big celebration in town that day and so much to see and discover. But I was so tired that I decided to sit down and rest for a while when those two men sat just in front of me. I took so many pictures of them but this one is my favorite. Click /

I was watching these lads when I was at the Angel – there were three of them – one is rolling down the hill at the moment. The were having great fun, pushing each other over, fighting etc then for split second they stopped and just stood and looked – there was something very gentle about the way they did it. Despite the bravado you could see something of a real friendship between them.

This (far left) cup has been travelling around the world – who knows where it is now. Here (an old rectory in Glebe, Sydney). I’ve tried to create a disparate collection of cups (different backgrounds, histories, journeys or purposes) while they have a core similarity, connection or raison d’etre.

I’m so glad every now and then it snows heavily in England. I rushed out looking for potential spots to photograph, I took this one in Eaton Bray, Bedfordshire, UK. Photographed from the car as that was the only place I could see to get the shot between the hedges without falling in a ditch. Plus it was cold and I’d rushed out of the house without a jumper. BGB Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 70mm, f/14, 1/200 sec, ISO 200. No filters used. I just had the sensor cleaned to this is straight form the camera. Drawn 2009. Age 22. The boy sat in the dark isolation with an aching heart… He was overwhelmed by the psychological agony that was pushing him towards despair, towards desolation. He tried to stay awake to avoid tomorrow, desperately fighting sleep, but like the inevitable wash of the natural tide or the brilliant glow of the rising sun, slowly his struggle to stay awake ceased as his eyes were overcome by tiredness… - Drawn on white smooth bristol board. 2H, 3B pencil, black biro pen, water colours and digital paint.
